Even thought the Del <- key doesn't the CLR does, so I guess you could use that one to backspace. I know you have to move your hand, but it works...

I hate doing this, because it's splitting hairs and people always say yeah, yeah, whatever Sleeve, take your pill...
The "delete/backspace key" is actually a backspace key in normal mode. That is, it will remove characters to the left of the cursor. When you set this key to Fn or Fn Lock mode, it becomes a delete key - it removes characters to the right of the cursor. This is consistent with how the normal action for a key is below the Fn action of the key and note that Del is above the backspace arrow.
Set your cursor at the middle of a word and see what I mean.
Note that it also deletes selected text just like backspace does.

Don't feel bad I was about ready to do the same thing
Not splitting hairs, go to know. I haven't even used the FN lock yet. When I type numbers, I have been using the numbers on the keypad, instead of the ones on the keyboard.

Splitting hairs? No, I dont think so. If the key stopped working, thats a problem. I didnt realize that when the function key was locked it still functioned as a true delete key. I'm glad I know that it was intended to work that way. It makes sense.

Me too - I really like having the numbers available all the time. That bugged me with my Q that I had to use function keys to enter numbers.
