What GPS software do you recommend?

With my I730 I bought the i-Blue 737 32 Channel Wireless Bluetooth Reciever and it worked like a charm with Iguidance version 3. Trouble is it won't load on to the new OS and so I'm forced to upgrade or consider another brand. Does anyone have a suggestion that can help me use the reciever I have (there's no trouble with that) but get the best software for the buck.

I don't mind spending the money for the Iguidance V. 4 but I wanted to see if someone had it on their I760 already... is it working well... or is there a better solution?

Thanks
Curtis

I wont have this phone to Friday so this is just an idea at this point but I know Delorme Street Atlas has the ability to upload predefined maps to a PDA so thats what I am going to try. to do this though you have to but Delorme which I am sure will cost more than Iguidance

For free you can try Microsoft Live Search and Google Maps. If you want voice directions TomTom has gotten mostly good reviews. iGo with North American maps should be available soon, and that looks intriguing.

Personally I think I'm going to try my Freedom GPS that's on its way with Live Search and see if that will hold me until we see how good iGo is.

I currently use TomTom 6 with a I-Blue GPS and it works great, if I need to look up traffic info I then use Windows Live.

I also have both Google Maps and Windows Live Search installed for directory and mapping functions.

I'm using TomTom 6 for turn-by-turn driving directions.

Ethergnat... doesn't that require a data plan to make Microsoft Live Search and Google Maps work?

I dont have my 760 yet but for my 730 i use I-GO. It works way better than tom tom 6(which i used to use). Th maps look very sharp, super accurate, and the UI is amazing. one thing i live about i go that i hated about tom tom is that u choose what maps u want on ur card, only load the ones u use. I only have the map for the state i live in. only takes up less that 50mb. I dont needs maps for all of north America. I got it for free form a torrent. The USA maps are a little hard to find.

Yes, MLS and Google Maps both would be pretty useless without a data plan.

I have been using iGuidance 4 on my i730 with a Parrot LS3400-GPS intergrated BT hands free and GPS sysytem in my car.

Program works flawlessly without hiccups. Big advantage of iGuidance- can have whole of North America on storage card in one file (I run it of a 4GB SD card). Its utilizes 1.6GB of card space.

Windows live or any other program dependent on outside info is subject to being cut off when go out of a signal area. I use Tom Tom 6 and it works perfectly. Text to speach would be nice but overall, a very good product.

Try Garmin XT for $100. Only problem is that it comes on its own microsd card and you cannot the software local to the device.

http://www8.garmin.com/mobile/smartphones/

It looks just like the screens from my NUVI 360. I dont know if it has Text to Speech but it can use your internet connection on your phone to grab traffic information as well as POIs for free which is a nice convenience.

I am currently using ALK CoPilot Live 6 for almost two years and it still works with WM6. Version 7 should be out soon however the software only is $199. I do believe it is better then my Garmin in terms of multiple destination routing and the Live service where people can track your progress using the phone's Internet connection. It also has Text to Speech. While driving instead of a map it shows you in big numbers how far till your next turn which I believe is more helpful then viewing a map. When you come near the turn it switches to the map view.

The TomTom and BT338 GPS work extremely well. I also do traffic with live search. This i760 is easily the best combo unit i have ever owned.

WLS, Google, VZNavigator, TeleNAV, download their maps from the Internet/Network while everyone else stores them locally on the phone. So you can't really get trials of those programs because the maps are like 1GB-2GB.

I think google maps is cool, but pretty much useless for turn by turn live directions. I think TOMTOM has the prettiest interface, I gotta go with Iguidance for the most funtional. It has really great POI setup including by distance. So I can just map to the nearest grocery store, or chinese restaurant. version 4 has good text to speach, so it tells the street name to turn on. And I really like that it sees how fast your driving to calculate your arrival time. other GPS programs just assume you drive at a specific speed, so if you run in to traffic the ETA will be way off.

Iguidance 3.0 works on WM6

Curtis - Iguidance version 3. 0 works fine on WM6 - I have been running it for a few weeks now w/out a problem. IMO the upgrade to 4.0 may not be worth the cost if you are like 3.0.

There is brand new software being released called CoPilot Navigator 7. It has just won top honors over Tom-Tom, and I am getting it within the week. I will certainly report back how it is, and my overall experience.

When you say others which ones? Copilot adjusts as your speed adjusts as well as Garmin.
