Messaging Button 3 Shortcut Target error

I ran into this error and thought it might deserve its own thread, although crafty had posted about it a while back in the "Now that it is out" thread.

When I would press the messaging (envelope) button on the keyboard, button #3, it would put up an error. It says "Shortcut Target" error.
Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename.

I had to go into Settings -> Buttons and remap Button 3 to some other program other then mapping, hit ok, go back and hit button 3 to pull up the other program, and then remap it back to messaging.

Thanks to crafty for the fix. Having read almost every post on this board about the i760 (and search) paid off. I can't remember if the button ever worked or if I got the error from the first time I tried it.

Thanks for the Tip, I will make sure it's in the FAQ when I can compile everything....

I get this error frequently, use the same fix, and then it comes back a few days later. Getting kind of aggravating.

Same here. So now I just mapped it using AE Button Plus. No more error!

That's very interesting--you mean you mapped it to the very same button with AE Button Plus and it stays mapped? Hmmm?

I got the problem after installing a few programs (QuickMenu, Advanced Config...) but solved it easily enough with AE Button Plus. No more problems.
