Bummer ... DOA

Well I (like everyone else here) have spent hours tricking out the phone and getting it "just right". I love it, BTW ... it's a step-up above the i730 in many ways.

But this morning I pulled it off the charger, played with it for a few minutes, then changed the battery to charge the one not on the phone overnight. But it's DOA, Nada, zip, zilch.

The charge light appropriately comes on when plugged in, but no techniques of Soft Reset or Hard Reset bring any signs of life. In a normal situation I'd truck on down to the Verizon store and get a new one, but I think my only option is to call Verizon CS and get a phone shipped out on Monday - assuming I can get one shipped. When you look online it is apparently totally sold out.

Bummer... well I guess it's back to the i730 for a couple days....

I thought the SAME thing when i first swapped my battery. I am so used to the Treo 700Wx and the device being always on. This device can actually turn off. When I swapped the battery, the device didn't wake up just as my Treo always did. I had to hold down the power button to get it to come back on.

I hope your device is ok

Maybe the battery you just inserted isn't charged enough to power the phone on?

Well I feel silly.... I just hit the power button as suggested by ebedoun and voila the device sprung to life. Thanks for the tip. It's not just the Treo that was different - so was the i730.

Sorry to waste everyone's time with this bit of user error....

You did not waste anybody's time... That is what this place is for. I swear I thought something was wrong with my phone at first also. Glad I could help
