I think Resco is probably the best.

Here is what I use, and also include in the MRailing Phone Tools, and yes it's free:

PHM Registry Editor : Pocket PC Edition

Someone posted their installer didn't work correctly, so I ripped out the exe and posted it in post #12 below:

This one isn't free but I have used it and it's very nice. You do the reg edits from your desktop screen.

Incredibly poor customer service from Resco

I bought Resco File Explorer, and loved it for my i730. I got the update when I went to WM5. I transferred it to a Tilt I was trialing, and it wouldn't accept my code. I have emailed them ~5+ times and heard nothing after 2 weeks. I tried it in my i760 and have the same problem. Since they don't seem to respond to emails, I feel as if I'm hosed. I asked them if the code is specific to the handheld, but of course I haven't heard. I haven't heard complaints from anyone else so I don't know why I am having so much trouble.

I have checked my name and code number entry numerous times on both machines, so I doubt that is it. When the "trial period" is over for each phone, the program won't do much of anything. Based on the unresponsive customer service more than anything, I can't recommend their software.

I bought Resco Utilities when I had Wm 2003 on my i730 and then upgraded when I moved over to WM5 on the i730. I installed it on my i760 earlier this week and the transfer worked just fine. All part of the Resco Utility package seem to be working correctly under WM6 based on what I have tried to date.

Since nobody else was complaining, I figure something must be wrong at my end. That doesn't bother me as much as the fact that they aren't responding, over several weeks, to multiple emails begging for help.

I sent them an email last weekend before I got my phone asking whether I could transfer my software over to the new phone given my i730 registration and never got a response either. I finally just went ahead and installed it on the new phone and the automated registration stuff barfed out new registration codes for me which worked fine.

I was lucky in that my software worked fine without needing their help.

Here is the PHM Regedit. Take the EXE in the ZIP and just place it on your device, and then create a shortcut to it in the /windows/start menu/programs/ directory.

Unfortunately, my original purchase was just over a year ago. I upgraded (free) to the WM5 version within my one year period, and this is the code that won't work. When I try the "request your code", it either sends me my same old code, or tells me I can upgrade for 50% off. I still don't understand:

1) Why my WM5 code won't work, when everyone else seems to find it working fine.

and... 2) why they don't respond to emails asking for support. They seem like a good company with a good product and reputation, but I wonder how they keep it with support as bad as this.

hello guys, i'm really in need of a registry editor.

i tried searching on how to make a shortcut per the above but i can't find relevant info for the i760.

***edit***

i found mrailings phmregedit.tx with the instructions below but i didn't work for me

Here you go.

Rename the file to .cab instead of .txt, then upload it directly to your phones storage. After you install it, it should place the icon in your programs menu.

Good luck!

File Type: txt regedit.Mrln_ARM.txt (94.3 KB, 138 views)

i have the text file on my laptop. i right clicked on the text document, and under "rename". i aded the .cab extension, i loaded into my phone and it didn't work???
