Vibrate Mode

I am switching from the 700W where the phone silenced completely with just the flip of a switch.

I had my phone on 'vibrate' and when I got an email this morning on the train it alerted me with audible tones! That is quite annoying! Does anyone know how to put the phone in silent mode for ALL notifications?

Click the speaker icon in the top bar. Click Vibrate.

Third party software can override this setting.

So many ways. Easiest is to repeatedly press the down volume key. This will first drop the PDA volume to 0, then will jump to vibrate for both PDA and Phone, and finally will drop to silent mode.

You can also do this with the stylus by clicking on the speaker in the top info bar.

Thanks for the replies, but I did exactly what you said to do... and still got an audible alert for a new email message.

The speaker icon was replaced with that little 'shaking pda' icon....

That's odd. I'll look at this later today when I get my 760. Normally with no additional software installed, the volume settings trump the Settings/Sounds & Notifications setttings.

Do you have PhoneAlarm loaded? Even with the phone on Vibrate manually from the speaker icon of the volume keys, the current PhoneAlarm doesn't mute/vibrate unless you do it from it's software, which is an issue that's being worked on. So as mentioned above, other programs can override the settings...

No 3rd party apps yet. I just did a test, let it receive my email and it did not alert audibly.... just vibrated. Maybe I didn't have it set correctly or something....

Thanks, all!

Is the vibration strong on the i760? I'm picking mine up tonight. It always annoyed me on my Q that I couldn't always feel my phone vibrating.

It's a decent vibrate mode... Can't say it's better than other devices like the Q, but I can feel it fine in my pocket.

Thats good to hear. As long as I can feel it instead of occasionally, I'm happy.
