Multiple Bluetooth devices not auto reconnecting

So I have three devices paired with my I760. A discover 640 headset, acura hands free link and blue tooth stereo headsets. The phone is not switching back and forth. I have to manually go into blue tooth settings, go to the headset tab and click and hold until I get a drop down menu which says "connect" I cant believe this would be normal. Has anyone tried pairing more than one device and switch back and forth?

I have experienced the same issue. My Magellan nav has bluetooth and I use a jawbone headset. I need to connect each time I switch back and forth. I have been waiting for the past 3 weeks (original 40) for someone else to have the same problem.

Wow, that doesnt bode well for us getting an answer then. Since there is an entire screen dedicated to switching between bt devices I have to believe there is a simple solution.

Same issue as others multi BT transfers

I have the same issue between an Acura HFL, Jawbone, and Pharos BT GPS. Looking for any answers. Actually still trying to get GPS worked up.

Same thing for me... H700 headset and BlueAnt SupertoothII.. Won't automatically switch between 'em.
Have to go in and celect the check box for "handsfree" under the bluetooth properties for the device I want.

Very frustrating.

Very frustrating indeed. I cant beleive we are the only ones using multiple blue tooth devices with this phone. The lack of responses is disappointing.

Bluetooth Issues (Multiple Devices)

Hi Everyone,
Here are a couple of issues.
1. I listen to books while driving and plug a cord from the I760 into my car stereo. My car also has Bluetooth and I paired it. however if I have the stereo wire plugged in and get a call the phone rings through the car stereo however when I answer it nobody can hear me. As soon as I unplug the headset the phone call works over the cars bluetooth.

2. I have a Bluetooth earpiece and paired it to the phone. I also paired the car to the bluetooth. however, only one works. If I am in the car and using the car bluetooth it works fine. Once I stop the car, get out and turn on the bluetooth ear piece, it doesn't work. I checked Connections -> Bluetooth and Handsfree is unchecked. Only one connection can be marked as Handsfree at a time. I'm not talking about trying to use both at the same time I know I can't do that. I don't want to have to configure bluetooth connections everytime i want to use the other device

Both of these options worked on the I-730

Any Ideas

Thanks
Lenny

Well... I talked with the tech support folks at 611.
I explained the issue with the bluetooth devices not automagically switching. The tech just was like..OK. SO I said, "What, thios is a feature?" He said, "yes". grrrrrrr.
I said, "No.... This is a bug!!" *sigh* "When can we see a patch!!!" He was clueless...

My suggestion is to have all of us call this in... then they might get the message!!
CALL 611 - tech support!!!

Good luck (squeaky wheels)

yaeh ive got the same problem.

im paired with my voyager headset and bmw. it seems to be only 1 or the other which really sucks. love to see a fix for this. i have to keep going into the device and selecting "handsfree". when u select one, it automatically deselects the other handsfree device.

Same problem here. I use 2 bluetooth headsets and have to go into settings when I switch them. The i730 did this automatically when you turned one headset off and the other on. Maybe the powers that be on this site will work on a fix/hack. Maybe this should be brought up in the Hack thread if it hasn't already been. Maybe even an icon on the home screen that will switch between devices.

Same here, too. I have the nuvi in the car for handsfree, and I bought Motorokr S9 headphones. Unfortunately, the S9s also have a headset profile and when they pair they don't enable handsfree because I haven't enabled that profile, but they do disable the nuvi's handsfree setting. If I re-enable handsfree on the nuvi's settings on my i760, even with the nuvi off, the A2DP on the S9s disables and no music. If I enable stereo headset again on the S9, the nuvi handsfree setting is shut off. Then if I shut off the headphones and turn on the nuvi, they sync their phonebooks but the nuvi complains that the phone is disconnected. When I manually check off the handsfree profile on the nuvi again, the nuvi re-enables voice command and the headset icon appears top right in the dialpad window.

(BTW, I'm holding back for a few more days before I endorse them, but so far the Motorokr S9 headphones have excellent sound, volume level, range, and features.)

I am having the same issues. I have the Motorola HS850 headset, A Garmin Nuvi 660, Pioneer DEH-P9800BT, and have also tried it in my friends Lexus GX. You have to connect them each time. Also i cannot find a way to put the phone into a discovery mode so that the other device can find the phone not the phone finding the other device. This is a pain for me because i use the Pioneer Unit the most and it does not automatically reconnect even if it was the last one used. I think the Bluetooth in this phone has some serious issues that should be resolved.

Discovery mode: from the main screen, hit menu, bluetooth settings, go to the mode page, then it's the second checkbox from the top of the screen.

What does that do... other than allow you to be seen by the bluetooth on your computer or something.

Yes.

Usually with a mobile phone, you're using Bluetooth accessories that have no way for you to input information. But with a PC, both your phone and your i760 have keyboards, so you can choose to pair them in either direction. Either make the PC discoverable and pair from the phone, or vice versa.

I have seen how to put the phone in a visible mode, but my Pioneer Head unit does not see it, the head unit looks for phones only. I think when the i760 is visible it is visible in some other way, a PDA or something. I think that visible and discovery mode may be somewhat different. Oh well, i guess thats the price you pay for being on the edge of tech, nothing works with the old stuff.

Mine is doing this as well... Real hassle since I don't like walking around with my plantronics 655 in my ear all day like a dork.

I want to shut it off, put it on my belt, and then get in the car and have the Audi Nav+ integrated bluetooth pick up the phone automatically like it used to, and then get out, turn on the 655 again and have it work without mucking in the phone.

I also use a plantronics bt basestation style thing at home... So 3 bluetooth devices i switch between daily...

Now I am having to F with the bluetooth menu 5-10 times a day. great.

Actually I just forget and am in the car and the phone rings but isn't tethered to the car at that point so i have to actually answer it... Can't wait to get a ticket for that once CA's new law goes in.
