OK... Looks can be deceiving... Actually, all the modified script (without the BTtoggle program being called) does is mark the check box for "handsfree" on whatever device. It does not do ALL the things that need done for the actually switch the device. GRRRRRRR!!!!
I didn't realize it until I went to my car and actually tried to switch and use my parrot.
I was quite upset about this!
Oh well, anyone have any idea what else needs switched?
Thanks

Did you try the script WITH the BT Toggling? The reason it is in there is because BT doesn't seem to recognize that the registry value has been changed unless you turn on BT. I suspect that when you actually "Save" the checkbox in the BT menu, it somehow resets part of the BT software. It works for me that way, just not reliably. However my reliability issues are probably due to my old BT device.

The issue was.. when I used the BT toggle... if Bluetooth was on... it would turn it off. So I thought if I just used the script .. it would not turn it off.
Sorry everyone spent time working on this. If you had read my post #313, I had the same issue a month ago. What we need to find is the registry values to change on the headset page. So far, I haven't found them. Not sure where to go from here...
Actually... if there was a "one button" or "click" to get to the headset page... that would work too.
Not sure how to do that???
Thanks though....

there is a one button click solution to the problem. vito button mapper has a stylus screen tap macro recorder. it records stylus taps and then emulates them with the push of a single button. i have mapped a long and short tap to a button and can toggle between headsets with this software. it works ok for me.

I tried this... first off, you need the mapper program and the macro program. Then when I tried... I recorded one macro, and then the i760 was unresponsive for most functions... like assigning the button after it was recorded... I had to do a reset.
Not a stable program.
Still looking... there should be a way to just call up the Headset page with one click.

Steve - a bit off topic, but I had button mapper for my 730, was wondering whether its worth the install. Which buttons on the 760 are mappable? I had asked the developer, but their support is beyond poor and never got a clear answer.

I'm assuming that you keep BT on all the time. If that is the case, Just put the toggle program line of the script at the beginning as well as the end. Therefore, it will turn off BT, then turn it back on. Then you have a one button solution. You may need to increase the wait time in between the toggle. You can do this by increasing the number "3" to something higher in the sleepmessage.

OK that will work for that...
But, when I tried this ... it still doesn't complete the switch of the handset.
Good news. I just talked to a high level tech support person as Samsung. While none of the lower support people knew jack about the BT issues, this guy knew all about them. He said that I was one of the first people to originally call in about this in November and a bunch of people called about it afterwards. He said that they started working on a patch for the phone, mostly to fix the BT issues and they were currently doing tests with different BT chips to test compatibility with the patch. He further said that he though the patch would be released in mid-March.
If other people want to "make some noise" about this again, call up Samsung and get to the level 2 techs. They all supposedly know about this. Additional calls might increase the urgency in getting the patch out the door.

If this guy isn't just BSing you then a mod should make a sticky that tell us what number to call and how to get to a level 2 person. Then we can log and follow our responses.
Evil_Attorney please start a new thread on this and a mod can sticky it.
This thread is too long diluted now and useless. Lest concentrate on getting this fixed by Samsung the correct way.

I took my phone back yesterday and got the 6800. I couldn't stand the bluetooth problem anymore, and I can't wait for Samsung's "solution". I didn't want to chance that my 30 day trial would have run out and the patch not work or there wouldn't be one.
I also returned the i760 because of the bluetooth issue. I wasn't a fan of the side slider but I did like the phone, I would still have it if not for the bluetooth issue. I am in and out of the car all day, I use my headset when in the house and office, so the lack of auto reconnect was the final straw.
I just bought a Treo 700Wx, I am hoping that this phone will be perfect for me. Windows PocketPC software with touchscreen and stylus, and an external keyboard. Here's hoping it works as well as I need.
