Looks like the contacts program only handles SMS....MMS stays with the native application.

Looks to me like you're missing a few folders.. ByGenericID contains 8 folders in my i760, not including PC10 that I removed. Dunno what to reccomend other than a hard reset..

just a thought...but when synced can you drag your program folder to your desktop, then put it back in after your hard reset?

If I install this program to test it out without doing a registry edit, then decide to remove it, does all go back to normal? Does my SMS and MMS go back to working the way it did before the threaded app install? I don't want to do any registry changes unless I decide to keep the program, then I'll do the registry fix.

Thanks!

Mike

not sure...but you'll love the threaded sms.i know a hard reset would take it back but if you try it i think you'll choose to keep it.

Send a message via AIM to tange1

I got mine working, finally. Turns out I might have been working for some time now. One thing people need to be carefull about is even after I've made these setting changes when I go to send a picture by selecting it in my camera 'album' the 'mesaging' app asks me what i want to use to send it (select account). I have several options, 2 labled MMS. One just says MMS the other says 'MMS Enter a signature here'. If I select the 2nd 'MMS enter signature here' option I can send and recieve just fine. The wrong option that reads 'MMS' only appears once i've selected a picture via the camera 'album.

Anyone else notice this?

This the program PocketCM has been mentioned a couple of times:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsu...tml#post676908
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsu...tml#post680552
but no one has seemed to indicate whether it fufills everyone's needs as far as threaded SMS goes.

I have not done the primary method described in this thread because it appears difficult and problematic at this point; however, if someone can describe how the functionality provided by that method is different than what PocketCM provides, I may reconsider.

Can someone provide details on the difference between what PocketCM offers and what you are currently getting by following the details in this thread?

Goto HKLM\system\inbox\ExternalAccounts\ and delete the MMS folder. Then you will only see the 'MMS enter signature here'......

Has anyone been able to get "SMS" back in the "Messaging" screen after installing the threaded SMS app?

As opposed to what? Do you mean in Outlook, where it says SMS/MMS/email? before threaded SMS and only MMS/email after? I never put any thought into getting it back. I've pretty much kept SMS and MMS separated. I mapped the threaded SMS app to the envelope button, and I access MMS through the SPB Suite today plugin.

I don't see how you'd be able to do this*, since it would be analogous to getting AOL Instant Messenger to be integrated into Outlook on your desktop PC. Now that you've installed Threaded SMS, they are now two separate programs. Actually, I'd be interested in replacing my default MMS app with something different. Any suggestions?

*Though I didn't say it was IMPOSSIBLE...

Exactly. I use the Messaging button to quickly access my Outlook and MMS at this point. I'd like to do the same with SMS. It's not really a big deal. I just like being able to have all my messaging apps in one place.
