Whatever lead laden junky plastic they used to make these things in China isn't strong enough to hold the pin. As soon as you press on the clip the molded plastic that holds the pin almost melts away.

I can not even begin to describe how bad a setup this is.

Even if you are thinking about buying one just to have until you come up with another option I would caution you to not even try it!! I would be surprised if you get 1 use out of it - I didn't even get that.

Just wanted to make sure folks knew that.

Too late I ordered mine. Thanks anyway.

Im sending mine back for sure. I dont even think it was designed for the 760. With the extended battery it barely fits.

Oh, I should have mentioned that the only real glitch about using the i730 Pro Clip with the i760 is that if I don't line the groove of the Pro Clip up right with the slot in the slide of the i760, the edge of the Pro Clip ends up pressing the camera button just long enough to open the camera app. Several times, I've looked down at my i760 in the Pro Clip and unexpectedly seen the road in front of me. Kind of like having my own dash-mounted camera.

The H5 is the size that fits, based on what brassMonkey ordered. Cabrio comes in vertical sizes, but 5 is too small and 6 is too big. Even though it's an open top design, the width of size 5 is half a centimeter short. With a leather case, that's a crap shoot depending on the softness of the leather and how much of a rain dance you want to do taking your phone out. Size 6 is a centimeter longer than H5, and 3/4 centimeter wider. It's the same depth. It may not grab on enough to avoid dumping out if the case gets caught on your leg, an armrest, or you suddenly need to do something superheroic.

Well you've all read the well lamented story about the P.O.S. plastic holster disintegrating so now it's time to find something else.

I'm not a big fan of 'cases' - I was actually one of the few that liked the original 730 holster. I'm just not happy about the face out thought process so I guess it's time for a case.

One of the big things I noticed with a lot of the cases is that the belt clip is just held on by pressure. In other words, there is no bottom 'j' molding to give that extra hold so it doesn't pop off.

I'd really like to find something that has a swivel to allow horizontal and vertical placement and that small channel on the bottom for extra security. I've lost too many startacs in the past to that design.

I will keep reading for suggestions but if anyone has found something already that has these things and it works please post up a link. Or if you are working with some of the designers, perhaps you can throw these suggestions out to them.

Thanks!

Jay

yeah, its pretty easy to get the phone in and out of. -just push from one of the holes in the bottom of the case. ...I was pushing for a custom vaja holster, but they wouldnt make one with the screen facing in, and there generic cases are pricey. ...i really couldnt be happier with the bravo!

I don't want to keep double posting about the crappy holster but I finally took a picture from yesterday so here is the link from my other post for anyone that is still contemplating buying it:

To anyone with the holster - Look Familiar??

In other words, don't!

Custom i760 Case - email EB Cases if you're interested

Calling all i760 owners - email EB Cases and ask them to build us a slipper case with a belt loop. ebcases.com - Quality leather cases and accessory for Smartphones, PDA, MP3, GPS, Cell Phones and many other handheld devices

I emailed all the big PDA/phone case manufacturers to ask them about
designing a slipper case with a belt LOOP (not a clip as in the naztech series). I have been particularly fond of the EB cases - soft plush leather, excellent build, belt loop..... I use this daily with my i730. According to the size specs, this will not fit the i760 snugly, and the Treo EB case will be both too thick and too long.

EB cases was the one company that has replied thus far. If we pepper them them may be more likely to follow through. Here is their generic, but honest statement:

Dear EB Cases:
I have owned a number of your cases as I go from PDA/phone
to PDA/phone. Always found them to be excellent quality.

How about a slipper case for the new Samsung i760 just released? Your
TREO case appears to be too long ...

Eric

If we design a case for it, you will be notified via email.

I'm not getting it.
How will a sliper case work with a slide out keyboard?
Plus do you have that flap hanning off your face when talking on the phone?

I was using the 700wx and a leather top loading holster. I tried it out on the 760 and it works fairly well. Here's a link to the case, but there could be other good crossovers as well.

Mark - re:case

Mark - I recognize that everyone has their own style. I use the case simply to hold the phone in a convenient comfortable location (secured to my beltloop, horizontal). When I need to access the phone I simply remove it from the case in entirety. KISS philosophy (the "stupid" is directed to me - not you)

I am sure there are folks who would prefer a true custom case that would allow see through this, or slide-out that. But practically speaking it seems unlikely that a manufacturer will produce such a case for this phone - very expensive to do, and this phone won't sell with the volume of an iPhone.

They may however be willing to design and manufacturer a slipper case, which merely needs to fit in length, width, depth. Horizontal, belt loop for safety. The Naztech would be fine except for the clip.

Cheers!

Garment, good info! Does the i760 fit loose or snug in this case?

So you would not have the flap haning off the phone when speaking on it becuse you actually take the phone out of the case when you use it?

If that how its works then I like it also as long as it is easy to get it out and back in.

If I can't find a snap-on cover for the face, the next alternative is as thin a case as possible so the device would still be pocketable, and relatively easy to remove quickly when I get a call.

Anyone seen anything that fits that bill?

Does nobody realize that some of us want to carry phones in our pockets, instead of looking like Batman with various gadgets hanging off our belts? <sigh> I wish Handheld Computing magazine was still around so that I could write a ranting editorial bemoaning this issue! "Pocket" PC my @$$!

For those that are using the Bravo (brassMONKEY, others?) or any other cases with magnetic closures, have you noticed if the magnet affects the phone?

Also, has anyone tried the Prestige case from thepocketsolution.com? I've got my eye on that or the Bravo, depending on how the magnet affects the phone.

I almost went for that Prestige case, buxleyp, but then I saw the posts about the Naztech stuff and it all looks great. I'm just not seeing the right color and design unless I get basic black, and I can get basic anywhere. The clip on the Prestige case doesn't swivel and the flap looks oversized. The Naztech stuff swivels and has a smaller single magnet flip lid. I still haven't ordered a case.

I bought the Naztech H5/coffee brown and its a nice case. The leather.... well, seems a little like "Peleather". Has anyone else thought the same thing?
I have experience with Peleather because my girlfriend loves leather jackets but cant afford the real leather so she buys "Peleather".

Captain, since you bought brown can you please confirm that the brown one looks like the case in the big picture at the top of the Bravo page and not like the reddish sample they show for "coffiee" brown on the colors page? Have I gone color blind? Brown isn't red, right?

Yes, It is Brown like the photo at the top of the page not Red like the small photo below. The stitching is redish/orangish for a nice contrast. It is a good looking case and I'll keep it but I was expecting something different as far as material.
