Yeah, if the Vaja doesn't add too much thickness, I'd definitely be game.

I don't have it yet, but am planning to, and would be willing to sign up. I would prefer something holster-like. The ivolution looked pretty nice.

Count me in too, as long as there will at least be the option to put the Rivet i-pin in the center.

I have done some IT work for a Plastic & Engineering company, and we could possibly design our own belt clip, that would be more durable, and if the order was high enough, we could have it made for a reasonable price. I like the belt clip, cause I clip it to my pocket with the phone on the inside of the pocket. I would also prefer the phone facing in, instead of out.

Maybe I will check in to this...

CUSTOM VAJA CASE

I spoke to Vaja today and they said they would be able to make an ivolution case/holster that meet the specs for the i760, however, ivolution cases are made for the phone to be "functional" while inside the case (the case unclicks from the belt clip). Because of this the phone screen MUST face out. The said they would NOT be able to custom make an ivolution (or any other) type of case/holster where the screen faces in, regardless of how many were ordered.

I dont like using the phone while it is in a case, so I guess I will either go with a universal side pouch from Vaja, or give a holster where the screen faces out a try. -If I only wear it with a suit jacket covering it, or like Michael just clip it to the inside of my pocket, I guess I should be okay!? Sorry Folks...

I am thinking about talking with a plastics and engineering company about designing a plastic belt clip, that faces in... If I do, I would probably have to order at least 100, but I will check on costs, and if so, I might be having an Ebay store to sell them, since the OEM's are so crappy...

Honestly, I'd prefer any form-fitting case from Vaja. I always wanted one for my i730, until i dropped it a few times and it didn't matter at that point. There are plenty of pouch cases available for alot less.

Thanks for doing the research. I would be less excited about an outward facing phone case (and it sounds like you would be also). I am also not sure how functional an always on case can be with the sliding keyboard. I would be afraid the design would feel clumsy.

I would image it would be a two-piece case, similar in design that was posted earlier in this thread. Otherwise they would have to build a 1-piece until with its own slider.

Either is OK w/ me.

If Vaja doesn't make a case this time around, I hope Seido can create a similar case to this:

SUPER SLIM RUBBERIZED HARD CASE & HOLSTER COMBO FOR PPC 6800 - BD2-HLCSR2P6800-BK

It has a slim rubber cover for the phone and a holster. Best of both worlds.

I had one of those for my 6700 but it was clear. The little tabs holding the covers would break off and the pin that the top latch hinges on would slide out. I hope they have improved some since last year.

The best holster product I have used (Treo; didn't have one available for 6700) is made by Helix. Very sturdy.

The Seidio holsters are not well reviewed. Verizon's holster for the 6700 was horrible. The clip at the top would launch the SD card whenever the device was removed. I have another generic holster from Ebay that is OK, but scratches the antenna.

I like holsters because of the easy access to a naked phone. I would most likely get an Invisible Shield or similar product that covers the entire device.

Vaja cases are very nice, but add too much bulk, IMO.

Mrailing, model yours off of Helix.

mrailing's custom holster

count me in for the custom holster. -I agree the helix design would be ideal. If it was leather and had a spot for biz cards/micro SD cards under the clip (kind of a side pocket), then all the better!

This is a case I had already and it's like it's been waiting here for the 760 to show up.
Nice thing about the 760 is I think we will have many more case choices......I hope.
Check it out

UPDATE I have been playing with the case and the magnetic closure turns the screen on and sometimes sets it to landscape mode briefly when inserting or removing the phone. I have heard about this with some phones but never seen it before.

Well thats a bummer! I used to hate that with my 6700, and now it will limit the choices I have for a horizontal slipper case that I was hoping for. My old treo case had too much room, and wasn't snug enough, so I guess I didn't notice the magnet thing right off.
