Seido Case

Anyone purchase this yet?
SLIM RUBBERIZED HARD CASE & EXTENDED BACK PANEL FOR SAMSUNG i760 - BD3-CSR2SMI760-BKX

Hoping to get some reactions regarding the feel/texture.

The only hands on experience with a silicone/rubber case was the one on my buddy's iPhone and I do not think it was a "rubberized plastic" but rather a complete rubber skin.

My question for those that have a rubberized skin is how similar does this "rubberized" plastic feel to the real deal?

Yes, I purchased this right after it was available and love it. The fit is absolutely perfect and the feel is much better than the Boxwave clear active case I bought in January. I've actually modified it to add a plastic knob so it will fit into my dashboard mounting clip - great for GPS/handsfree operation in the car. The holster is solid as well - and very secure (with or without the case).

Thanks for the info! Is the feel more plastic or rubber?

I am somewhat confused by all the different marketing jargon- rubberized, black rubber, etc. I think my main confusion lays with the fact that the iPhone case I like so much is labeled as "rubber silicone" and since I have yet to find one similar to the Seido locally to get my hands on I am in the dark for a comparison.

I'd say it feels more like a hard rubber - it has some tackiness and a softer feel than plastic. That's the reason I like it over the boxwave case which was just a pure plastic cover - very slippery, especially when wet. I would liken it to rubber silicone.

I believe the case is actually a "Monarch". If you look it up in EBAY you will find it for much less. I have had one for about 4 months and love it. I have ZERO scratches on the phone. All the buttons are accessible and the keyboard is accessible when you open the case.
The down side is that it will reduce your reception by one bar, so if you live in a low signal area it is not the case for you.

Correction on the last, the case on EBAY is "Monaco", not monarch

The Monaco case is not the same one as the Seidio Rubberized. The Monaco case has a hinge that has to be opened every time you want to use the keyboard. The Seidio is not hinged, is made of two pieces and can open without messing with the case. Just got the Seidio and love it.

Cool

Hello, all! I'm delurking to see if anyone has found my dream-case? The envisioning I posted on my blog makes it look like I live in some female-tech-woker-centric fantasy world. I assure you - especially after clicking every link offered up in the 32 pages of this thread - I do not. I am, though, like every smartphone owner (especially the really geeky ones, like me), looking for the ultimate - the one case to rule them all! The one where the screen has a nice, firm cover and the keyboard is fully accessible and has belt loop AND clip options, that comes in every color and that you can drive a car over without the device coming out of sleep mode.

What I REALLY want to know is - what do you other SCH-i760 (or even just small tech gadget) owning women using to protect this device? Of course, I still want my dream-world case that fits perfectly, has a strong clip but also has a removable cross-body strap for when I have nowhere to clip the thing (sometimes I wear - gasp - DRESSES!) and don't want to lug around my entire purse or laptop/tech/cable bag. I'm thinking I'm going to end up with the Seidio rubberized case + holster to protect the body and at least holster it with for the interim.

Are there any great gadget holsters out there that are pretty small and work for women? Maybe like this: YMYL - Holster - Your Music or Your Life... ?

Has anyone tried purses that are aimed at us techies so that the device can be segregated but accessible? Kinda like this: URBAN TOOL North America

Until I learn to make goods from leather ... I need something. Once I do learn to make goods from leather - I'll totally be ripping off the i-volution and selling them on here for all of us to enjoy.

Nice to meet you all!

- Denise

Thumbs down Covertec SX116 Vertical Case

Does any body use this case?

Covertec Cases - Covertec SX116/01 Black Leather Vertical Case V5

I have tried a number cases without much luck. I bought the VZW holster with the phone and it broke within days. I got an exchange for a horizontal case that after using for a while, I don't like. I have the Seidio Rubberized case and I am very happy with it but it doesn't fit in the horizontal case very well (too tight to get the phone out and answer a call quickly).

I bought a cheapo ($8.00) leather case off the Internet but again the skinned phone barely fits in it. The magnetic strap over the top of the phone will not latch with the rubberized case installed.

The Covertec case looks good (dimensions say the skinned phone should fit fine) but I am hoping from a report from someone who has one to give me that little extra warm/fuzzy feeling.

I have considered the Seidio holster and may end up with it. I just prefer a leather case. But, if I can not find a leather case that I like, I will order the Seidio holster since it sounds like a sturdy, well-designed holster. And it seems like Seidio stands behind their product, which is another plus.

I went ahead and ordered this case. Good news: looks like a attractive, sturdy case. Bad news: phone + Seidio skin will barely fit. Read this to mean you could never get the phone out in time to answer a call and it takes 2 hands to put the phone into the case... not good. I removed the skin and the phone is still a tight fit but is now usable (in/out is one-handed now). The case does have a small bit of elastic on each side. As this stretches (it will, usually sooner rather than later), it may be possible to have an easy in/out fit with the Seidio skin in place. I may buy the Seidio holster just to be able to use the skin. I really like the skinned phone.

Final update: After just less than 2 months of daily use, the rotating clip broke off and the phone hit the floor in the supermarket. No damage to the phone as far as I can tell. This lack of durability makes this case a "don't buy" in my opinion. $30 for 2 months use is grossly overpriced! It is too bad this happened since the case was doing nicely. It had loosened up just enough to allow use of the Seidio case.

I don't need a holster, but I've been in search of the perfect case as well. I had an ok leather one with a flap, but it also had a clear plastic cover over the qwerty keys, which made it difficult to type. Between the annoying plastic thing and the bulk, in the end, I couldn't take it anymore. The search continued.

I recently got one of the Seidio extended battery cases, and I think I found the perfect case. I love love love it. It protects the phone, but it is very light, and doesn't feel bulky at all.

For a purse, I found a nice Baggallini bag that has a small zipper pocket that this phone fits in perfectly. The bag is light, and the strap is long so you can wear it over your shoulder if you want. Link is here: http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/bon_...modelid=107671. I got it at a closeout sale in a store, so the price I got was a lot cheaper than the one on this site. But it's a quality bag, so I don't think this price is out of line.

Good luck...

hey guys,

I bought a clear plastic cases from Pocket Solutions and it was only about $14. It keeps it scratch-free; however, it doesn't fit the extended battery. I just received a product update from them and they got an actual silicone sleeve.

I am going to buy that one if it does fit the extended battery, b/c I use that one the most. Hope this helps everyone in search of good cases

seidio Innocases

Only problem I have had that I have dropped phone twice and both times cracked this case.
And my warranty ran out.
I wish case was a little softer to take a drop.
Be careful if you are working not to snag clip that locks phone in place.
Did this from back of pickup truck.
Broke lcd screen.
But I still love this case.

Does anybody else make an extended back like the seido case? They won't sell just the extended back even after buying their case with standard back just a few weeks ago. Wish I had known at the time. Their customer service is terrible. It took 20 minutes on hold and the person I talked to had no intention of trying to help, "we only sell what's on the site" is all she would say.

Has anyone purchased that silicone sleeve from pocket solutions? i was wondering if it makes the phone harder to get out of your pocket, and if it makes it thick. How does it hold up if you drop the phone?
