So I finally got the DiscountCell leather case a few days ago

Samsung SCH-I760 Universal Luxe Verticle Leather Case with Ratcheting Swivel Belt Clip - Black LUXEQBK

and I figured I'd share my feedback on it, especially compared to the Gobile case I previously used (see my pics from a few posts earlier in thread)...

* 1. Clip is very tight!

This was my #1 reason for switching cases so that's good. If this new case doesn't fall off my belt in the next several weeks that's a good sign and I'll likely stick w/ it.

* 2. Wider by a good 1/4".

* 3. Stiffer, cheaper grade leather.

* 4. Sticks up a little higher above belt.

* 5. Therefore, it's bigger, harder, more obtrusive & uncomfortable to wear.

* 6. Magnet is stronger.

* 7. Have to put screen facing out, because of magnet screen-flip. Gobile was opposite... it had to be facing in, which I like better.

In the end, the 2 significant issues are #1 & #5. And clip-tightness wins in the end.

Ah... these gadgets and their never-ending trade-offs!

As I have stated in the past.

This case is the best case out there and the price can't be beat.
Epically since I don’t think I will be using this device in late 2008 or early 2009. Why spend so much more money on another case when this one works just great!

I find just the opposite. Due to the strong magnet on the flip cover, I have to have the screen facing inward on this case.

I have moved to this case over the Samsung OEM. However, I have had several instances where the case has popped off my belt. Now that I've used it for a while, it has stretched out and accomodates my i760 so I can generally one-hand it.

I saw his post also about facing it out. I agree you ned to face it in and then there is problem.

The price just cracks me up.

Will that include the holster for it too? If so, I'll buy it as soon as it is released.

You guys must have a different case or different version of i760.

With my new DiscountCell case, I absolutely have to face it OUT.

If I face it IN, the magnet in the case will turn-on & flip the screen. As I said my other Gobile case magnet was just the opposite, so I had to face it in.

It's not a huge deal, it just means the screen's a little more vulnerable facing out, if I bang the case against something.

In the end, the tight-clip is the only thing significanly better about the DiscountCell case, for me. So I hope mine won't loosen up like Speedlever's, but I suppose if it does, for $13 I'll just chuck it and get a new one!

Anyway thanks to you 2 for all the previous feedback about this case.

Actually, my clip hasn't loosened. It's just not as tight as the clip on the OEM case. Still, I have grown to prefer the DC case.

Regarding the magnet, sometimes the pda will turn on and flip the screen when I pull the phone out of the case. The sensor that activates the screen is close to the numeric keypad. If you pull the phone out and the magnet passes near the keypad, it will activate the screen.

Boxwave Armor Case complaint

ive had the Boxwave Armor Case (the one that fits the extended battery) for a week, and i have one complaint. there are two hinges on the right side. the pin in the bottom hinge keeps sliding out the bottom and i have to keep pushing it back in. im afraid that one day its going to slide all the way out and i will lose the pin. im very dissapointed with this flaw after only a week.

I see the new rubberized hard cases on the Sedio website - they look great, especially the extended battery version... but no swivel clip?!? So close to the perfect case... but not there yet!

Seidio is still working on the matching holster for Samsung 760 rubberized cases. The holster will work with slim as well as extended cases. The holster is expected to be ready around 2/20.

Seido Rubberized Case

Would be great if Seidio could offer a package of this rubberized case with both backs, slim and extended, along with holster and maybe even include the srceen protector.
How about Seido? Maybe a special deal for Phonehome members?

I like the design without the swivel clip attachment. I currently have boxwave's rubber shell case and I can't lay my phone flat on a desk and press buttons without the phone tilting around because of that little "bump" for the swivel clip on the back.

My only gripe about the Seidio case is...

1) It is very expensive for only 1 version... they should include both the regular and extended for that price.

2) I wish they had a pure white color to add a different flavor to the phone.

Just got the SENA magnet flipper case:
SENA CASES :: SAMSUNG i760 MAGNETFLIPPER CASE

Had their case for the I730 and loved it. Pretty happy with this case as well. Initially, the magnet wouldn't keep the case closed well, but as the case has conformed to the phone, this has resolved. Magnet could definitely be stronger for this reason.

The other major issue is with not being able to sync the phone in case. The sync socket is blocked when the phone is in the case. This strikes me as being a poor choice, but putting two smaller pieces on each side of the socket was probably more expensive, and thus not done (which sucks for a $50 case).

Other than that though, it's a very nice case -- good clip, good ratchet, feels secure, camera lens is exposed for pictures, as are the buttons and stylus. I'm happy with it. Fits the extended battery like a glove, would probably fit the regular battery but there'd be a bit of laxity in the case (nothing like the I730, though).

Anand
