After having this skin for a little while, how are you liking it now?

I just got the leather case from DiscountCell.

My initial impression is that it has decent quality leather. The magnet is one of the strongest I've seen. The i760 is way too tight in there for me... so I have it in there now stretching it out. It's a two hand operation to get it out right now. The clip is fine, perhaps not as tight as others have mentioned. We'll see how it shakes out after it's stretched out some.

Right now the Samsung OEM leather case is my favorite. I orient it vertically on my right hip with the opening facing forward. I can easily one-hand the phone in and out. I have the phone facing inward and it works very well for me in this scenario.

I initially used the OEM case horizontally, but find the vertical orientation much easier in use.

Edit: My DC leather case is still too tight to be useful for me. But I'm still stretching it.

I will say that I think the DC case is cleaner and more attractive than the OEM case. But the OEM case remains much easier to use for me since I can easily one-hand it. Usability trumps looks thus far.

Received my DiscountCell holster - I agree w/ Mark. Great bargain. And my phone fits in no problem w/ the extended battery and face out. (Yes, I know, heretical - although I do have that super-duty can-barely-write-through-it screen protector.) I love that is has a clip instead of the ... whatever you call those slide holders. The clip works much better for taking on & off of a purse handle!

I picked up a bluetooth headset holder while I was at it. Definitely not made for the Jawbone, but better than nothing. (I couldn't find any made to fit the Jawbone.)

Yes, there is a plastic sheet across the face that protects the screen. Haven't found anything yet that's more to my liking. I am intrigued by the Seidio rubberized case, though.

It arrived today and I love it. I've always used the extended battery and I use it perfectly with this case. You can tell a SLIGHT difference of less "snugness" with the regularly battery. But, I continue to use the extended battery and I notice that with each insert and retrieval of the phone from the case the case becomes less snug. I've only had it for about 4 hours and it's already at a pleasant workable place. I'm VERY satisfied. With the phone on my hip, the phone is very easy to remove from the case. It's also easy to remove when holding the case in my hand.

As for look and feel, the case is VERY stylish. The all black with a slight sheen looks very good. The leather is a GREAT GRADE of leather. Sturdy, and of a good cut. I also have the OEM Case for the 760 and I like this discount cell case MUCH, MUCH better. The OEM leather is not as stylish as this one. This one has a good briefcase leather feel. Though it is not as snug in the OEM case, I still find it easier to remove it from the Discount Cell case b/c I can just grab the phone by the sides on the top and I'm good to go.

Lastly, my order was shipped the same day and I received it within 5 business days. I only paid for the 99 cent shipping. CAN'T BEAT THAT WITH A STICK!

Out of 10, I give this case a strong 8
Isn't it Great!!!!!

I am telling you it is a great soluiton.

Good for you.

Mark

I concur 100%...particularly with the "briefcase feel" comment. Great case.

Hey! At that rate I would be spending $72 every year just to keep my phone in a holster! But mine broke on the second day I used it. At that rate it would cost over $1000 per year!

This is too funny. Ok so I received my i760 a few days after the online launch. Before I received the phone, I bought the leather magnetic phone holster everyone is talking about, another open faced plastic holster (both from discountcell), a plantronics Voyager 520 bluetooth headset, and a 4GB transflash card.

The magnetic holster from discountcell was cheap as hell and a great buy, I would have never thought it would be as popular as it is given the price. DO NOT buy the plastic open faced holster, I do not remember the model number or anything, but just stay away from the really cheap holster that clips the i760 into place. It looks nice but it messes up the phone. There would be times I would take the phone out of the holster to find it off. I would then have to take out the battery, because the phone wouldnt respond to any buttons, then replace it and re-power on the phone. Everything else I bought for the phone has been working fine.

Right now I have the XV6800. Without going into too much detail as to why I switched phones, I am going to exchange this piece of crap for a i760!

The discount cell holster works great for me. I pocket when I'm not at work but clip onto my scrubs for 12+ hours a day. I use it with the face in... and even though it doesn't fit perfectly, it doesn't fall out either. I only ordered it because Mark was so adamant... and I'm glad he was. I ordered a second one to use at home when I jog on call (It actually fits that securely).

As I said before I usually don't get excited about these things but the price is laughable.

You should try their leather case. It's great also.

Take Care

Thanks for the update. I would rather wait and have a good fit. I was just confused because of the earlier post saying it was released.

I have their screen protectors on a few of my devices and they are super tough. Only complaint is that they're a bit shiny. I haven't used the full body ones though so I dont know how they are.

A stupid question...but, if i buy the full body protector, does it cover the screen also or just the body?

protective case

for those of you wanting a nonholster protective case, the HP Black Pouch Case is available for $20 from Best Buy. It is a perfect fit for i760, incl space for sd cards and 2nd battery. Made out of wetsuit material and constructed for the HP camera. Having found this my search for a case has ended.

I too started out with the Verizon vertical case then bought the black horizontal leather holster from discount cell and finally ended my search with the Naztech Sahara tan horizontal holster. It’s perfect in everyway for me and very well made.
