As I said before, I think that the discountcell holster is great!

it is very minimal in looks but is very solid and I am getting quick in putting it in and out of the holster. Also, the price is so feaking cheap it's laughable.

I agree. It's the best solution I've seen so far. I just received my 2nd one for back up!

I totally agree with Mark on this. Build quality wise this is probably the best case I have ever owned for a phone and it is also the cheapest! I bought two so I could have a spare. I would definately recommend this case to anyone.

That reminds me: my one gripe about the OEM case is that, because it was designed originally for other phones, it has no hole for the charging cable. You do have to take the phone out of the case in order to charge it. It does have a hole, but clearly that was intended for some other phone because it just creates an opening along the side of the phone instead of the bottom.

Just got my DiscountCell holster in, I have to say at first glance I thought it was a piece of crap. But I really think it is growing on me. I have to say it really seems to hold the phone in well. The only down side I can see so far, is that it doesn't hold the phone very well with the extended battery in.

Holds mine in just fine with extended battery. Is your phone popping out?

I purchased an oem case for the XV6700 (I returned the phone within the 30 days) for @ $9.00 shipped, on ebay. It works great and it's a really nice, quality case.

I use the discountcell holster and think it's great. Thanks Mark_A_K for recommending it. I actually use it with the extended battery, but with the screen facing in. It's designed to face out, but it's still very secure facing in ... there's just a little bit of space left in front of the screen.

When I use the slim battery, I'm using the clip from cliphangerdotcom. It's good for a low profile clip, but it hangs a bit low.

CarryMobile Leather Case for Samsung SCH i760 Special - (eBay item 150175806961 end time Oct-28-07 12:55:19 PDT)

I am more interested in the first case--the one without the extra leather piece covering the screen.

I am wondering if the first case slides open like the second one, or of there is no access to the keyboard whatsoever with the first case. I have e-mailed the seller, but thought I would check here to see if anyone has received one yet, or if anyone here has found out the answer to this question some other way.

Thanks.
I did get the first CarryMobile case, from this same guy. Took about a week; not bad from HK. Case construction is pretty good. The front flap has a large pocket in the back that looks like you can slide a few business cards or an ID and a credit card in there. There's a smaller pocket in front that might hold an SD card, but it would touch the screen (it's a half-height strip of leather.)

With the front flap open, you can slide the phone in the case to use the keyboard. Typing, there's sometimes some multiple-button pushing but if you slow down a little, you won't make many typing mistakes. This is actually how I discovered the "Mail" button.

I've only had it a day, but the magnetic snap on the cover doesn't seem like it will stay closed consistently (it comes open very easily.) It hasn't opened yet on my belt, though, so I guess we'll see. If anyone's interested in pix, I'll try and get some up.

You can also check out the case at: www.carrymobile.com.

best, Richard

2 quick pieces of info:

#1- the carry mobile sleeve is really solid -I just got mine and it fits both batteries and seems to be well designed-Not crazy about the belt clip-sticks out too far though.

#2 Cases.com just listed the i760 cases-see what you like

i agree. if they could make that with just a standard clip on the back instead of a swivel, or maybe put it closer to the hip it looks like it could be a great carrier

The plastic just seems to not fit as well when the extended battery is in. It's almost like the plastic stretches a little too far.

I ordered mine directly from the Samsung website. I always used the holster with the old I730, so this is my first pouch type and I love it. Great size, great fit, holds slim and extended batteries with no issue. I don't have anything to compare it to, but this is a nice looking case as well. Just thought I would add my 2 cents after giving Samsung 1,799 of them.

This case at best buy holds the i760 quite well. Since it is vertical and has the magnetic flap on the top, it does not interact with the phone's magnet supposedly under the keypad. I didn't buy it since I prefer a horizontal case and have purchased the OEM case from ebay.
