I kind of like the looks of this horizontal case (Prestige). I got the universal PDA pouch from VZW (PCH4, I think) that's a decent fit, but the contrasting stitching is starting to get on my nerves.
How does the PS Prestige work with the extended battery? Does it remove easily, or is it a very tight fit? Thanks.
LT
i have only used the extended battery and it fits fine
mrpacs, if you have a magnet, put it on the front or back near the bottom.
What do you mean, "If I have a magnet"? Did the magnets come embedded in the case or do you have to insert them? My case did not come with anything except the case itself, no accessories/separate magnets were included. thanks P.D. !
The magnets are inside, under the lining. An external magnet (one you may have) will help you find out where they are.
If you don't have a magnet, take a piece of metal and see if it sticks.
Got ya. tested the case and it DOES have magnets. I'm not keeping the case anyway; it's simply too tight for easy access. I ordered the Diplomat in black from Pocket solutions and see how that compares. Thanks again P.D.
I ordered one yesterday as well. Nearly 1/4 the price of the one from VZW and it doesn't break the first time you use it? That's a no-brainer. I also picked up the $13 Sync-and-Charge cable to solve the need for the $40 cradle so you can charge while connected. What the heck is up with the crappy and/or overpriced OEM accessories on this model, anyway?
Just got this case in this morning; bought for $6.99 off eBay. Works great. I spent the whole day outdoors taking the phone out for pictures and putting it back in the case. No problems with the magnet or otherwise.
Obvioulsy it's designed to be a horizontal case, and that's the most secure way to hold it, but the magnetic strap is strong enough that the case works okay vertical as well thanks to the swiveling belt clip.
Oddly enough, it came with the belt clip upside-down, and there was so much resistance when I tried to turn it that I thought it wouldn't swivel, and was either defective or for some stupid reason designed to be upside-down. After a few minutes of trying to convince myself it would be okay clipped from the bottom of the belt, I gave the swivel one hard push (it probably took a good 20 lbs of torque) and now it swivels just fine (still takes about a 10-lb pull, though).
The power button is exposed and the only easy way to get the phone out is gripping it with the thumb at the top and finger at the bottom, so the power button is hard to avoid when getting it out; but that's not too big a deal.
FYI...It looks like the magnet in the i760 for portrait/landscape sensing is under the dial pad. The Samsung OEM case mentioned above has its magnet right in the middle, and since the phone comes out sideways the two never get close enough to switch the phone into landscape. ...or at least, they don't with my particular phone and case.
I went with this holster...and so far I am happy....Mark seemed to think it worked better with the screen facing out but for me...screen facing in is a much better fit......I like it......but just got it today so I will let you know....

LOL, I went to a local store and the girl checked they only got one, but it was broke in the package and she said that three other stores in the area also received them, but they were all broken already....
Just got a credit and will get something else soon, but this thing fits nicely in my pocket.... even with the lulongtime battery......
I went into a vzw store Sunday to look at the OEM hoslster. They didnt have one. They did have the i760 dummy on display but the usint was zipped tied where the keyboard wont open. I asked why and she said becuase that's how the other phones are done.
I said but the customers wont know that it has a keyboard and she said "hummmm".
Now you know why VZW cant advertise or sell their way out of a papper bag......
One other thing!!!!!!!!!!
On PDAPhoneHome why are there so many clicks going on in the backgraound?
What is up with this site in the past couple of weeks. I have typed many long replys only to have it jump me to a new web page before I save............
Please turn of the click stream stuff going on in the background!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received my holster from Discountcell, and it's pretty good, but does not accomodate the extended battery. I e-mailed them about it, and they said they do not intend to make one that fits extended batteries. Also, it only really works with the screen facing out.
So, since the holster I ordered online from VZW broke after about 2 seconds, and the Discountcell holster won't fit the extended battery, I went to the local Verizon store where they had a few in stock. I opened one and tested it on the spot, and it promptly broke. They handed me another, and it's held up for the past two days. I think it's the luck of the draw whether you get a good one or not, but the odds are stacked against you. On the plus side, the VZW holster fits both the regular and extended batteries.
Has anyone purchased this case from ebay? I would like to know what the feedback on it is. I am contemplating between this case and the OEM case. The case from ebay is completely closed, so could protect the phone better. I just need to know from someone who has used it whether the phone fits nicely into the case and if there are any magnet issues.

The case does hold the extended but it's not perfect.
........never mind your right enjoy the VZW holster.

I could honestly force it into the discountcell holster with the extended battery, but the sides were bowing outward, so I was concerned about the security and longevity.

Yeah I just ordered this case, too. I figured I can't go wrong w/ the OEM case. I don't like "one size fits most" products...I want the one from the manufacturer.
That site also had a 2GB microSD for $35.....SOLD!

If you put it face in with the extended battery, I think it holds it pretty well. The screen is held up a bit off the face of the holster because of the reverse position, but it seems locked in.
I got the discountcell holster and it's OK, not great. It seems a bit cheaper then the Verizon one. (Other then the breaking clip problem) I don't like the way the discountcell holster supports the phone on the top. The clip has a tab that wedges between the 2 pieces of the phone. (keyboard and screen). The Verizon holster has a clip that fits over the whole phone. I also noticed a slight mark on the top of the phone where the clip from the discountcell holster locks in. For now I'll use the Verizon holster with the i730 clip epoxied on.
