I have a rediculously low amount of understanding about drivers, but here is an idea to solve this problem:
Find another phone with a microsdhc driver (Mogul, anyone?) and copy its microsdhc driver. The only question is whether they use different microsd slots. Someone could research to see the BOM, probibly created when some website, such as Engadget Mobile, dissassembles the phones, and figure out which, if any phone, shares the microSD hardware (exact).
When I called verizon they transfered me to samsung. Samsung stated that there were actual problems with the phone hardware, limiting stable usage of the phone's microSD card to 1 gig. This might be the reason why they didn't develop SDHC drivers. There was a problem with the microSD slot hardware.
I will repeat that I have no clue about drivers. Please, anyone correct me.
Another vote for finding out if the 4gb or 6gb sdhc versions work. I want to order the 6GB so it gets here on Tuesday. Anyone confirm this works? Maybe with a screenshot showing the card capacity?
I am confirming for you the driver hack works. I am reading 3.8 of a 4 gig micro sdhc card. I am getting some instability issues with WMP playing stored music though. I dont know if this is related to the hack or not. When skipping through songs the player simply stops working. I need to go back into library and start it again.
I have both a 4gb & 6gb Micro
The 4gb is showing 3878.28MB Free after Installing the hack.
I put the 6gb in and it only showed 1.7xx gb free. So I guess the 6gb card will not work with the hack but the 4gb will.
I should have played with it a little before posting but someone asked if it worked so I thought I'd post initial results.
Does anyone have a blackjack from which we can try to get MicroSD drivers?
I am really frusterated that the device doesn't have drivers for high capacity flash. For the cost of having an external reader, they could have simply included the measily 2 gigs of flash that it supports.

Someone hopefully will extract a good SDHC driver from another OS that will allow for full SDHC use...though I think its absolutely pathetic they didn't take care of this in this "upgrade".
I'm betting that the first firmware update will have support. they HAVE to get that out of the way. its just silly not to when its almost 2008 and the 16 and 32 gig cards are not too far away.
anybody else have a problem upon restart with the card not being recognized anymore? Yesterday this happened, and I reinstalled the CAB and it was fine...this morning, I've reinstalled it a few times and it isn't working. Causing problems on the phone because of an app that is installed on the card
I attached a zip file. Inside is a cab file. Copy to device. Install in main memory. Make sure you soft reset after install(installer should ask you to reset). Results may vary. This installer basically overwrites two .dll's that deal with sd cards. This was the first thing i installed and have had no issues with it at all. Although results may vary as it has with the 6700 and Treo 700W/WX. If you try this please post back results. I have currently used this with my SanDisk 4GB microSDHC and have not lost any functionality when switching to using my SanDisk 2GB microSD.
Just recieved my I760 this morning and installed my new 4G MicroSDHC. After messing with how to do this correctly I ran across your post, follwed the directions, and it works like a charm.
My card reads "3.78 GB free of 3.78 GB"
I couldn't ask for more, and thanks for the help.
NOW... If I could just get someone to explain to me as clearly as you explained this... How can I get my 760 to sync via bluetooth using WMDC?
As long as I've been searching I've never been able to figure this one out.

Don't assume you're dealing with HTC patching cycles at all here. Odds are very high we'll never see an update for the life of the phone unless something critical comes up, and even then, our definition of critical and what VZW is willing to force Samsung to fix are different things.
