I just got the phone and I'd like to recap this issue:
2GB cards works no problem
4GB cards can be hacked to work.
Nothing higher, even with the hack works?
Can this be fixed with either firmware or WinMo 6.1 updates?
Considering that the SDHC standard is suppose to be good up to 32GB, this is very disappointing,

Nothing else works yet. It can be fixed with drivers / firmware.
I in no way know how to do this, but the SMT5800 I had was a WinMo - Std phone that could read the 8GB MicroSD cards. Can we get the drivers from one of those?
I purchased the 4GB Micro sd card from Verizon with my i760 ($49).
It was not recognized as installed. The tech tried formatting the card and found it was operational on other (non-i760) equipment.
He concluded after investigation of his "database" that the i760 does not support greater than 2GB.
A free swap to a 2GB card had me on my way $20 dollars richer

Qintdad, did you apply the hack for it? It works just fine with the hack installed and 4GB is nice to have.

This CAB file worked great. Almost. I also have an 8Gb card. The patch allows the phone to use 4Gb of those 8Gb, but alas, the other 4Gb are invisible.
Is there a way to alter the CAB file to allow 8Gb cards to work? If not, does anyone know of a patch/hack to allow the larger sized cards?

I downloaded the .cab for my 4gb card and it worked great! I tried synching with exchange and the phone froze. I accidently wiped the phone using internet outlook mail and my card was no longer recognized. I tried to download the hack again and it went through the motions but does not recognize the card.
I don't know if that is related to the wipe or if my card got screwed up some other way.
Is there any suggestion? Can I restore the dll. back to orginal and try to reinstall the memory extender again?

Okay, what am I doing wrong here? I saved the zip file and extracted it to my PC. There are 4 files but no .cab file. There is a setup.xml file and three other files, 000SDBUS.002, 0000SDHC.000, and SDMEMORY.001
Did I miss something because the XML file just opens with IE and isn't executable? This 2 GB capacity is lame when storing those MP3 files.
It's funny because I unzip the the SDHC file, then it extracts ANOTHER zip file which appears to be the SDHC.cab but in zipped form. Will that run as is? I unzipped that one to get the four files I was referring to.
Has anyone with the i760 tried the 6gb card (with or without the sdhc hack?) I don't want to buy a 4gb when I could get a 6gb for $20+ more...
I have an i760 and a ADATA sdhc 8g card. Initially the phone did not register the 8g card at all. It did register full 8g with my personal laptop, but if you tried to format the card it would only see 3.6g of the 8g. Futher, if you were formatting the card your only option was for a FAT32 pt. I am now in the process of trying the sdhc.zip file.
I may be out of date with what is currently known about the 8g sdhc issues, but I haven't had time to read all the forum entries.

I have played with skins and themes and stuff but they all dont do what I want. I have been pretty down about the whole thing lately..... So this week I just bought a Sandisk 4gb miscro SCHC Card at Radio Shack for $ 19.95. I installed it and it sees nothing. Installed SDHC.cab and am now rebooting.... (after reboot) F*** YEA! it works! I finally got something to work!!

Thats some funny stuff.
$20 bucks for a 4gb MicroSD is way to much. I got one on ebay for $8.
BTW after trying all the today screen crap my i760 always became sluggish and unstable. Took me awhile but I learned its just not worth it to use any of them
