I don't know about overwhelmingly large, with searching and marking posts as read, then skipping to the last read post, we ought to be able to have a 30 page thread without splintering off. I do agree that a 6/8 discussion doesn't belong in a 4gb thread, but I would have much rather seen the splinter thread on the end of the existing 6 gig thread.

Also bought the Sandisk w/adapter, but it was not recognized by my
XP desktop (no response at all when inserted). Are there special drivers
needed for XP to recognize a SDHC formatted card?

Opps, I didnt test the reader in my XP PC. I just know that it works fine in my i760 with the hack.

I will test this today and get back with you.

Anyone have a good source for the 4gb cards? I looked through this thread, but didn't find too much that is current. I checked NewEgg, but "A-Data" brand scares me. Amazon.com has it for $37 + shipping.

Thanks!

I'm using an A-DATA now...no problems whatsoever. A-DATA brand of most all memory types on newegg get excellent user ratings. I agree that it is scary, but other user ratings help to calm me down!

Amazon had a very good price on SanDisk 4GB cards about 3-4 weeks ago.

I did a google search for Sandisk 4 gb micro and found a store that had it for $50.00. So, do a search and go for it.

This was being discussed over at HoFo's today. A Mr. TempBanned had some kind of 4GB card for $31 after an MIR. It was on this page, but I didn't follow all the details.

That is an A-Data card. Has gotten good reviews so I went ahead and ordered one. It is $40.99 + $4.99 shipping = $45.98 - $10 MIR = $35.98. I also got a paypal promo for 20% off so I'm getting it for $26.98.

The Paypal Promo has already ended though.

You can find them from the various Amazon.com retailers for under $50 for retail packaging and reader, even less for bulk. Just search around on sandisk 4gb microsdhc. There are several different vendors. I just ordered one. If I'm getting something through sketchy vendors, I feel better about doing it through Amazon.

I did find it at Amazon, but given it's the holiday season I thought perhaps someone had found a cheaper source. I already checked all of the links in the posts before mine, but I did not find anything cheaper. Thanks for the responses!

Any recommendations right now on the best "bang for the buck" for a memory card on this phone? I doubt I would use all of a 4gb card, as all i put on are programs. Have my ipod and laptop for movies and what not.

I'll vouch for A Data, I've been using one of their SD cards in my camera for a long while now. Some of the fastest read/write speeds on the market. Their microSD card also appears to be one of those 'turbo' sorts and its cheaper than many others on the market (including sandisk).

I snagged a Kingston 4GB microsSD card kit (complete with miniSD and regular SD adapters) for $49 at Fry's Electronics a week ago. I think the sale is over now, but Fry's runs sales on memory cards pretty regularly.

I bought the same kit but Sandisk on Amazon for $49.

So you see you just have to do a Google search and you you find them.

Nobody is saying they can't find deals. The point is that some deals aren't published, and others don't make it to the search engines before the quantity runs out or the deal expires. There is nothing wrong with asking for a best deal.

Ouch, no one said that there is anything wrong asking for the best deal.

This is my first post and i want to say im glad i found this place! I just got a sch-i760 lastnight and was disappointed when i foundout that my 4gb card didnt work in this device. It worked just fine in my motorola Q m9.(r.i.p.) so i found the cab file on here and IM BACK IN ACTION! verizon said it could only handle 2gb Max...Well they are wrong once again. Btw i got this new phone as a replacement for the Q m9, verizon replaced 2 of them and i kept having the same problems. Very slow performance, and then lockups. My last Q lasted 5 days. So they offered me the I760 on the spot, i knew nothing about it so i was nervous to just take it. Now that is can use my 4gb card i believe i really moved up as far as getting a better phone. I also had a VX6700. that was a nice phone but its battery life was a joke. So here i am on my 4th smartphone in 6-7 months.. No more motorola phones for me ever again. When i told verizon of my problems they didnt even seem shocked by what i was telling them. The Qm9 was very easy to use though.. but the phone was designed as a multimedia device not so much a pda. I perfer the pda. I can surely see myself loosing the stylus... I keep forgetting to put it back in the phone. once again i want to say thank you for all the info you post on here. Now i dont feel i have a lesser phone...(in terms of storage cap)

Hey guys, I've been lurking for a while now, but before i make the jump to 4gb's, I've been reading that the card stops responding after a while? Does this happen to everyone? Or is it based on the type of application being used? Cause if it does hang and disappear and doesn't come back, etc etc then i dunno if i should make the jump to 4gb even though it'd be really nice to.

I've got the A-Data 4GB and have had not a single problem with it from day one. I've had it for 3 or 4 weeks now. Plus, I got it for just $30 after MIR. Newegg still has it for that price right now
