Just one idea. Haven't tried it, but I email cabs to myself routinely. If you don't sync via exchange, maybe it would work with wireless sync or something similar.

EDIT: Even more obvious, that just hit me. You could come to pdaphonehome on your i760 and download it from the appropriate thread. Granted, navigating and searching on the phone is not as easy as on the desktop, but you'll get there.
thanks, that's a great idea. I sent the cab over to my web email acct.

I believe I tried to download the file from this site the first time i did this hack and for some reason, I couldn't download it...so I had to activesync it from home. Having a spare microSD card, just a small one with backup cabs, that you can keep with you or with the phone somehow would be the best way IMO

Kingston 4GB Micro SDHC

Randy,
This is the card I bought and have had no problems with it. Works fine.

Randy,

I just installed the Kingston 4GB MicroSD HD Card (SDC4/4GB)

Kingston Technology Company - Flash Memory - microSDHC (High Capacity) Card

with the CAB file compliments of "Nemanracing". Worked perfectly and instantly. Sent it to my device via an attached email and now I have my 4GB card showing a capacity of 3,831.97MB. Life is good!

By the way, you can't go wrong with Kingston and their quality. I sell their products through my company and have been to their factory in CA on a few occassions and they are top notch. If they cost a few dollars more they are worth it.

Good luck,

Rob

I have been reading this thread (tired eyes) and have some questions:

1. Will this SDHC.CAB hack work with the Sprint Motorola Q?

2. What happens if it dosen't? Can it be reversed and the origional .dll's recvered?

Right now I am using a Trendsend 1MB MiniSD purchased from Newegg.

Ditto Rob's success with the Kingston 4GB card. I picked mine up at the local Fry's.

Is Nemanracing working on a fix to read more than 4 gb? As mentioned earlier, the patched worked perfect for my 4gb/i760. I decided to try a 8 gb but can only read 4 gb.

Thanks for the input! That's definitely the one I'm going for then!

BTW... I stopped in a sprint store to see what they had to offer. I was looking at the HTC Mogul (Should be the XV6800 for Verizon very soon). They said that HTC is putting out a firmware upgrade in February or March next year that makes the phone support actual full GPS usage (not just the e911 like it is now), should incorporate micro-sdhc compatibility, and will use the new EV-DO revA. I dunno about you, but I think I'm switching to that one when it gets released for Verizon. It was originally though it was coming to Verizon on Nov. 16th, but obviously that didn't happen so it should be very soon!

8 Gig Sandisk Micro SDHC???????

I purchased the 8 gig from Verizon, but with the hack it only reads the 38...
(4gig)
Any hack or other options to get it to read the 8 gig???

Is it in the works or should I return the card back to Verizon?

Thanks,

sdhc.cab worked fine (thanks to all), but my transfers are very slow?
Moving a collection of mp3 took about 100M per hour using the USB
sync cable and dragging files to Mobile explorer. Is this typical??

Thanks,
I would return it and get the 4 gig.

I bought a Sandisk off the web for 50 dollars and it came with a USB reader and mini adaptor. Just do a google search.

Using the reader in most devices is very slow. You should use a card reader whenever possible. This is true for the i730/8525 at the very least but i suspect that it would be true for all.

I have been told that there is an update for the phone available in-store to update some of the features of the phone. Among these are bluetooth and the way the MSD card handles data. Maybe this will clear some things up.

1) Copy both dll files first then the SDHC cab (reset if need be).

2) Then to use the SDKCERTS.CAB..it didn't work UNTIL AFTER I

3) Soft reset!

and WALLA IT WORKED! I FINALLY got back 5GBs (5289) of my 8GB SDHC Card working again in my i730! Thank God! I wonder if anyone with an i760 will find that it allows themn to access more than 4GBs of their 6GB or 8GB MicroSD Cards.

EDIT: AND I can read my non SDHC Cards AGAIN as well! WOO HOO!

No thanks necessary only posted what was found over at xda-developers...there is a thread over there that might be of interest for you guys to ask for support on. I did see one i760 user over there that did request. You might want to post your version of dlls over there. Has anyone done a rom capture of the i760 yet like and give it to one of the hackers over there? Then they can look at the file contents and decipher what is going on. Try to PM the creater of this hack and ask him for some help. See if getting him a rom dump would help.

"SDHC card patch WM5 and WM6" working - xda-developers

albrew5,

Before you post anymore on this issue I would go into the store and see if it is true.

I think you are going to be disappointed. I don’t believe that there is an update. Please prove me wrong......

Since we seem to have a working solution to the 4GB cards, I propose starting a new thread related to unlocking the remaining 6GB and 8GB cards. This current thread has become overwhelming large.

Does anyone else second this?
