Why won't you just get older already Jay? jeesh... I am amazed that it did take this long for someone to get confused about the importance of your birthday.
I'm starting to do the math on my new plan and it's not pretty. hehe. I hope the i760 is worth it. I'm hoping that better service with VZW over sprint will be enough to really justify it.
I may put in a call to my local vzw outlet and see if they've gotten any training materials or prep stuff yet.
Someone really ought to tell VZW that my cake is getting stale. If we let the candles burn any longer, the house might just burn down. While we're at it, VZW ought to know that they're really messing up a lot of folks' plans to attend my birthday party.
Serious, kerpen's post still might allow for a July 1 release as Q3 starts July 1. I believe that unless a serious problem is discovered, VZW will release the i730 at the end of this month or early July. I suspect the kerpen's rep is working off old news, specifically the original speculation that the i760 would be released in May or early June. Just my two cents....

Been lurking for awhile. Thought I would share info from my Verizon business account rep. I emailed him today about i760 and this was his reply:
The release has been delayed. The latest information is Q3 or early Q4.
If I hear of anything I will let you know.
Take anything you hear from CS or Business Reps with a grain of salt. You will get a 100 different answers from a 100 different people.
It will be out when it's out, and this is one of their summer release phones. All signs point to no later than the first week of July (but that could change...).

Well, it is a pretty calendar, and I didn't know you could have 2 last quarters and 2 new moons in the same month. However, I do not see the link to this and the i760

It was a joke. A july 4th release, but the verizon calendar has no July 4th!

Haha nice catch. I didn't even see the absent 4th. No independence.
Anyone find anything ironic about celebrating the Independence Day when we're not so dependent on stuff like Technology from Japan and China and oil from the middle east.
Once we have fuel cell cars or some other non-oil based fuel should we declare it a new (oil) independence day?
Federal courts have given federal regulators until June 27 to justify a ban on new models of 3G phones powered by Qualcomm Inc.’s chips, while the chip vendor appeals the ban.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has given the United States International Trade Commission two weeks to defend its partial ban on importation of 3G handsets with Qualcomm chips while the vendor’s appeal on the ITC’s decision is heard, according to a Qualcomm spokesperson.
The ITC rendered its remedy on June 7—a ban on the importation of new models of 3G handsets with Qualcomm’s chips that were found to infringe a patent owned by Broadcom Corp.—and Qualcomm has appealed that decision in federal court. The court has asked the ITC to explain why the ban should remain in place while Qualcomm appeals.
Meanwhile, Qualcomm, Verizon Wireless and LG Electronics Co. Ltd.—all three businesses could suffer under the importation ban, particularly in the fourth quarter, according to analysts—have all asked the Bush administration to veto the ITC’s decision.
Broadcom had requested a total ban on handset imports containing the offending chip and the ITC apparently balanced the need to protect patent rights with the impact that a ban would have on the public, the wireless industry and the U.S. economy. However, the ITC was split 3-2, with dissenting commissioners saying the partial ban had too great an impact on third parties. Qualcomm is basing its appeal of the ITC ban, in part, on that reasoning.
Walked into my local verizon store yesterday to see what they knew about upcoming pda phones They have been told that what appears to be the i760 (couldn't confirm it by name though) should be available online in early july, and some time later in the stores. They also said that in july/august VZW will be rolling out a few new pda phones.
I spoke to the local Verizon Business Account Exec. last week and he says they are telling him the i760 will be released in August. I would assume it would be available online first ... we shall see.
I've always bought my phones from the brick and mortar Verizon stores. When they say the phone will be available for purchase by internet only (assuming that is true), does that include calling Verizon to place the order?
The reason I ask is that I've been holding off on getting my wife a new phone with the hope that I could negotiate a better price if I'm buying two phones at once (hers and my i760). If "internet" really means internet without any human being to speak with, I'll end having to wait to get my i760.

Ditto. When I told her that they were going to be about $600 each, she balked. But when I mentioned the $300 price per unit that somebody else mentioned a few posts back, she found that much more palatable.

I've never had any luck from negotiating phone costs with corporate stores. Stores like Wireless Toys or such can usually deal on accessories, but that's about it.
VZW seems to always have a buy 1 get 1 free type deal. It has restrictions on it though. So if you're wife isn't picky, yer set... but if she wants a Prada, you maybe SOL.
