I just had a cold call from a Verizon rep wanting me to come in for a new free phone (with 2 yr agreement) - which is strange as I last updated my phone in January 06...
I asked about the i760 and she stated that it would be $499 - $299 after rebates etc., and the information she has stated that it was due July (no definate date).
I think I'll hold of updating my phone till then
That price with renewal would be GREAT! I am hoping this gets released in time for me to overnite and have it for all my July Traveling.

$299 for a 2 year agreement would be excellent and would probably lure in a number of non-converged users. I'm assuming the discounted price also will require sign-up for a data plan.
I'm feeling a bit older as we get closer to my birthday. :

Since everyone here is most likely going to buy the i760 and from reading it seems that everyone owns the i730, I figured some people would be looking to sell their i730. I am looking to buy an i730, so if you want to sell email me at blazeralb@yahoo.com. Thanks!
This is the common trend when a release is getting close. We start hearing from the "reps in the know", then we hear from general reps it's coming. This means that they are starting training, and getting the literature out to the reps. Usually about 7-14 days before release, Verizon has been putting a "teaser" image, and a date as to when it's coming, so keep an eye out for that happening.
This happened with the Q and the Treo 700Wx, as well as other "non-smartphone" devices. So keep your eyes open on Verizon's site...

I know, I know, I'm sure there's a thread out there that I missed, but I GOTTA ASK it
What are the diff's between i760 and the LG Prada?
They are in 2 different worlds. The i760 is a fairly powerful Windows Mobile 6Pocket PC device that's not very stylish. The LG Prada is a very stylish phone with a cool interface, PIM, camera, MP3, and other basic functions, but not much else. The LG Prada is geared toward the average user as an iPhone competitor, the i760 is geared toward business users.
Edit: what I basically mean by "not much else" is the WM community has TONS of apps you can install to fit your needs. I don't think (don't really know) if there will be third party apps for the LG Prada phone. Anybody know what OS it runs?
So, yesterday I am adjusting plans with Verizon on the phone, and I said "I am waiting for the i760" and she said "HOW did you hear about that?" I said "I realize you want to dump all the old crap on unsuspecting customers, but there's an underground of geeks that want the latest and greatest" she said "I understand" Lip service - probably. <fwiw>
Geckotek got it right: My birthday is the day the i760 is released, whenever that is. To understand, you have to look back toward around post 1162 et seq. The gist of it is that when speculation was that the i760 would be released in May, I was very excited because my birthday is May 9, and I was hoping I could buy myself an i760 as a birthday present. When the speculated release date changed to June/July, I decided to postpone my birthday, and onusigep suggested that we refer to the release date of the i730 as "Jay's birthday." Seehttp://pdaphonehome.com/forums/622066-post1164.html. Thus, my birthday will be whenever the i760 is released.
BTW, Mark_A_K, you were predicting my birthday would fall on June 21. Unfortunately, looks like you'll be off by about a week and a half.

Why won't you just get older already Jay? jeesh... I am amazed that it did take this long for someone to get confused about the importance of your birthday.
I'm starting to do the math on my new plan and it's not pretty. hehe. I hope the i760 is worth it. I'm hoping that better service with VZW over sprint will be enough to really justify it.
I may put in a call to my local vzw outlet and see if they've gotten any training materials or prep stuff yet.

I just asked my clients corporate sales guy for VZW:
****,
How should I contact you to order the i760 after it is released?
Also, do you know when it will be released?
Has anyone received training on it yet?

Hi Mark
So far I have not seen the release date. I will keep checking it and let you know
