What do you guys think? A scam?
The detailed specs don't seem to be accurate, e.g.
  1. Bluetooth Supported Profiles: HSP, HFP, OPP version 1.1
  2. Infrared (IR) can control home entertainment equipment Platform / OS Windows Mobile for Pocket PCs
  3. version: 2003 2nd Edition / 520 MHz Intel Bulverde Processor

Note that this is a Samsung SGH-i760, not SCH-i760.
Differences? GSM vs. CDMA, slides up (à la i730/830) vs.to the side, etc...

If need be I have friends in Chicago who can verify if this is a legit company..but from all appearances everything seems to be fine..though I wish their prices were significantly lower.
Now I know you're joking. You had me worried there for a minute that you where actually considering this.

I remember when the Kyocera 7135 hit the street, it was sold by some company in Texas for 2 weeks before showing up @ Verizon. Does anybody remember this event (or even the company)? I remember paying $699 for it (nuts I know), but it was legit. Maybe we are witnessing a little of this now? Perhaps dawn is arriving.

There's one more thing wrong with that ad. While it shows an old pic of a SCH-i760, the FCC ID listed is for the i730.

FCC ID A3LSCHI730

I wasn't saying I'm actually considering anything but this was a company I saw with an actual address I can easily verify to be real, doesn't use money order purchases, but in store payments and Paypal online. What about this makes you see red flags?

BBBOnLine Seal Verification

The BBB states they have been in business since 1998 and a member of the BBB since Oct 2004. If I was actually going to switch o add TMobile to my Phone Providers and buy this phone I would look into it VERY carefully, but I'm just saying these guys sell it, and I could easily verify if it was a real legitimate business with a call or two. I lived in Chicago since 1994 till 2004 so I have friends that can go there ask some questions and find answers if I needed them to. Ebay uses Paypal, I've used it a lot for purchases, and have never had a problem. I also never said I would buy the phone from them even if I had the money. It's just one of the few I've seen online that sell it that doesn't scream with red flags from what I can see...unlike the other site that was brought up here, unless you can educate me on something I missed.

Many legitimate businesses use stock photos sent by the companies they order from, is that the only reason to distrust them? Besides all of the branded Samsung SCH i760 I've seen look horribly tacky, ugly, and dead looking..like I just got my i760 out of a coffin dead. I think they're as bad as the proposed Olympics Sign.

I don't know why, but the wait this time around feels more aggrevating than the last couple.

My cell is doing a miraculous job hanging on for me until this release, but I'm about to slap the DNR tag on it soon.

$299 with renewal - sometime in July...

Hi All,

I just had a cold call from a Verizon rep wanting me to come in for a new free phone (with 2 yr agreement) - which is strange as I last updated my phone in January 06...

I asked about the i760 and she stated that it would be $499 - $299 after rebates etc., and the information she has stated that it was due July (no definate date).

I think I'll hold of updating my phone till then
