Need help setting up your i730/i830 or other WM2003/WM5 Phone, as well as the other hacks I have done, check out the MRailing Guides and Links
I am one Mac user who will not switch to the iPhone. As much as I totally love Apple and Apple products (just got the AppleTV for my birthday), I'm not switching carriers (VZW's coverage is that much better, IMHO) and I need a device that will easily work with my work computer, which (unfortunately ) is a PC.
dangerous, I'm disappointed you didn't invite me to the event. Next time you'll have to give me a heads up. Still waiting to bump into you at Circuit City.
I appologize and will do next time.
It was funny, i asked my Rep if i needed to Dress up, he said I don't care if you wear a Hawaiian shirt and dirty shorts. So, that's what i wore (the shorts were clean though).

What's wrong with Hawaiian Shirts and dirty shorts? As long as your slippahs don't smell too bad!

I'm blown away that nobody has posted about it yet, but what do you guys think about this ruling that bans the import of newly manufactured devices with a Qualcomm chipset?
I know that the CPU used in the i760 is made by Samsung, but I guess the radio itself is something that Qualcomm manufactures? Also, if the i760 did fall under this ban, wouldn't it benefit VZW (and Sprint with their 6800) to "release" the i760 for sale so that it is grandfathered in? Since we've speculated some that these guys are already sitting in a warehouse somewhere, waiting to be shipped at the end of the month, why not announce them for sale as of today with some backordering in order to preserve the ability to sell these as long as the ban is upheld?
Talk about hoping against hope, but that seems better than the alternative of this thing getting pushed back indefinitely.
***LOL Looks like someone just beat me to the punch too. LOL***
Looks like the feds have upheld a ban on imported phones containing the Qualcomm chip that is said to infringe on the Broadcomm patent. Has anyone seen or heard about this and it's affect on the i760?
"The U.S. International Trade Commission on Thursday ordered an import ban on some phones using 3G chipsets from Qualcomm that have been found to infringe on a patent held by Broadcom."
I'm guessing that this means that any i760s sitting in warehouses in the U.S. can be sold but that no more can be imported. As a result, we might need to snap up the i760s as soon as they are released or risk having to wait awhile. I also suspect that Qualcomm and Broadcom ultimately will reach a settlement similar to the what Apple settled with (already forgot--was it 3COM?) over the use of the name "iPhone."

Ha, Geckotek, and I were thinking the same thing at the same time. He just beat me to the post.

if they are in a warehouse in the US, they have already been imported.
I agree with that, but I think this centers on whether or not the phone has been launched yet. From what I've been able to gather, it looks like simply announcing a phone won't cut it, as is the case with the Samsung A727 for AT&T.

i760 does not fall in this category. It will be available to ALL who have the "money" to give the Almighty Gods at VZW
Apple settlement was with Cisco Systems.
