Does anyone have a ballpark on the price for a 2 year contract, 1 year contract, and full retail price?

Damn
If I had to guess, I would imagine it would be similar to the i730. I was hoping to get off kinda cheap on this, like maybe a 2 year contract for 299!

So..dangerous...how did it feel? significantly "lighter", "thinner," "smaller?"
I love the i730 but am really jealous of the Blackberry Pearl and the Dash and the Q...while not anything like our device, I guess I have "size envy." Really hoping for good and light.
I assume you are not under a NDA. So...your impressions?

To be honest, I looked @ the 6700, i730, and Treo 700W last year and eventually settled on the 6700. The i730 was just too much of a brick. (I now feel that way about the 6700 and our time with the 6700 was very short.)
I eventually settled on the Q and it is now our company standard.
I'm personally getting the i760 for myself as the IT manager so that I can run certain admin tools that can't be run on a smartphone device such as the Q.

felt about 1/2 as thick and a little smaller in the other two dimensions.
Not a bad feeling device. very solid. I'm not a fan of the landscape keyboard, but i will still get the phone the day i can order it.

There were guys with the 6700 today at the meeting. THey were dead set on the 6800, and thought it was going to be the best phone out there.
I did ask both VZW people and Samsung how they thought the iPhone would affect their sales, Both Put their heads in the sand and said, it doesn't compare. it's more like a MP3 Player or "TOY". I am a firm believer that ALL mac USERS will switch to the iPhone based on Principal (not functionality), as i have already talked to a few.

Did you have a chance to compare it to a Q or Blackjack?

I agree completely! The iPhone will sell to the average user like hotcakes. Oh wait, the average user can't afford it!
Ok, then it will sell to business users like hotcakes. Oh wait, it doesn't offer ActiveSync or any other Enterprise level push e-mail.
Sooooo, that leaves the Mac addicts and well-heeled gadget junkies like a lot of us here. Honestly, that's not a big portion of the population and those of us gadget junkies needing our PDA phone to be more powerful won't be willing to loose the apps and functionality we are currently used to.
And I think a lot of those Mac addicts and gadget junkies that do buy it will get fed up w/ no buttons to dial.
I'll be honest though, while watching the commercials I was drawn to it and would buy it as a video iPod (@ a cheaper price) and MAYBE pay a bit more for data service, but NOT as a phone.

This discussion is taking place at a company I work for right now. There is a segment of the executive populace that wants the iPhone as their "business" phone. For the time being at least, they are being told that it has "no business use in the enterprise" and the company will not pay for any of them.
The lack of enterprise level push mail is going to limit Apple's ability to make inroads in companies that have SSOPs in place. I for one don't want to have to support it, you should try to talk someone through using a treo that has never owned a mobile device, I can't imagine having to answer "ipod questions" too.
I am waiting for a callback from our enterprise team from VZW and will see if they have any more information on the i760, somehow I doubt they will talk.
