On that note, MR there is a silent rule that VZW follows>>>> when they pull the plug on a PDA based device it is customary for them to replace it with another one around 45~60 days from that day. This is to get the infra-structure ready for exchanges, break-downs, theft, returns and the famous 30-day-test-drive. So if we put that into the mix, it does seem like we are forever in the wait mode !!!!!!!!!!

on the phone with my Business rep now and he says they are Releasing The I760 at the end of the month. So it looks like 6/29/07. not to compete with the IPHONE.
he said it will probably be an INTERNET release first meaning anyone can order it on-line.

Here is dangerous' business rep demonstrating the special i760 designed for dangerous, so as to avoid multiple returns...
I think we are all as addicted as dangerous but just don't want to admit it.
What? Me addicted? I haven't been addicted to anything since I visited that river in Egypt! You know de nile!

Wow looks like everydate that I heard about and posted a few pages back were exactly right. I am starting to believe my information that I hear more and more. SO I guess July 4th it is! Not so fond of it saying WM5, which is odd considering all the pictures we have seen show it with WM6. Probably just a wonderful typo.

You'll note the "Windows Mobile 5.0" text next to the i760, which seems odd to say the least...

I can tell you right now that VZW E's info is rarely ever incorrect (maybe .0001% of the time), and that he will only post info like this once it seems a little more concrete. I put A LOT of weight on what this guy says, in fact, I rarely believe anything else I read until he chimes in.
if the HoFo is correct about a 7/4 release date for stores, can we expect an earlier launch date for B2B customers. I want mine before they go to the public.
btw- 2 years on the 730. It has been kicked, dropped, continously used, never had a screen protector on it, etc. This device has proved to be quite durable. I hope that the 760 is the same.
Hey, I can picture it now. Another year of "Where is my WM6?" Then superdave releasing a FUT version. It would be glorious. It would keep the pattern going. Think about it:
2003: Release of i700 (running 2002)
2004: Release of i700 O/S upgrade (to 2003)
2005: Release of i730 (running 2003SE)
2006: Release of i730 O/S upgrade (to WM5)
2007: Release of i760 (running WM5 AKUx)
2008: Release of i760 O/S upgrade (to WM6)
Lets face it. We are not happy unless we are complaining about "When are they going to release..... "
Kinda funny & sad at the same time.

Equus, maybe you can help us out here...the i760 is going to ship with WM6, right?
Thanks.
One I have been testing does HAVE WM6. It would surprise the crap out of us 10 testers (across US) IF VZW or Samsung changed shipment to units with WM5. To give you a guarantee that WM6 is what's in the boxes at the warehouses (getting a new flash done), I would be going out on a limb, geez, this would be very disheartening to note IF VZW pulls this stunt and IF Samsung is in on this. I need to make some fast calls now. IF I can get an OK to post I will definitely post or maybe I have to be cryptic in typing a response.

ROFLOL. Now that's a great way to start off the day today. Thanks, Pastor Tim, for the laugh!

Remember MRailing's April Fool's trick this year, specifically the invisible electronic ink?

Just in case, it might not be a bad idea to have equus do a rom dump from the i760. Hopefully SD will be able to do the same as he did for the i730 WM5.
