Well, for what it's worth, I called my friend that has worked at Verizon for about 2 years now. He said it is expected to be released mid-June/early-July. He gets his information from a friend that works in corporate at Verizon (His friend had the i760 a few months ago). Oh and he also said they are trying to get it out sooner rather than later (ie. keep it from being delayed again) because it was originally slated for a 1Q release.

So, take this information with a grain of salt, but my friend has been accurate before (when telling me information), and he has no reason to mislead me (unlike a salesman trying to sell you one of the current PDA's as opposed to waiting). He also said that he is going to pick one up (even though he's not much of a PDAPhone guy) because when he was playing with it, "it seemed like the perfect phone".

It's not pushed to a fall release, and I would say that I am 90% sure it's because the Business Rep wants to sell you other devices. Business Reps and CS reps at stores are the LAST to find out about releases. I walked in to Verizon with my i730 on my hip three days after I bought it, and I asked the guy when they were going to get their i730s in, and he said, "oh they won't be released until September as they got pushed back.". I showed him mine and he said "oh you must have gotten one early, but the public won't get it until Sept". I said that they will be out in two weeks for the public and he didn't believe me, but oh well.

Don't believe those people, they just aren't informed.

Now I called "Ethan" today about 12 times. We played phone tag all day, and I spent most of the day at the Indy Speedway so he would call when the cars were running. We never did get to meet up last week, but I talked with him for about 20 mins. He said that it's most likely going to be in June. They want it out as soon as they can. He said, and I am quoting, "5% chance of a May release, 75% chance of a June release, and 20% chance of a July release." I said, come on, you should know the exact date, and he said that maybe he does and maybe he doesn't, but that is what he told me I could say to the public... Man he likes to be cryptic...

Great news, Michael. I was almost in information withdrawal last week when you didn't get the chance to meet with 'Ethan'. As always, thanks for the info, and for that oh so tiny sliver of hope that we'll see this as early as May, though we know it's June. Thanks again.

I called into Telesales last night to activate an EVDO ExpressCard. I mentioned that I was waiting for the i760, and the rep responded the Samsung i760? So clearly some of the reps know about it. I didn't even bother asking her for a release date, but I did mention I noticed the i730 was sold out.

She told me the i830 was replacing the i730 for replacements, and that they were no longer going to have any stock of the i730. Clearly the release is upon us, I am confident it will be the last week in June/First week of July.

Maybe I should be hopeful for a May release!?!

I'll probably jump ship from Sprint when this comes out. Service in my area has taken a downward spiral the last 6 months and its been pissing me off enough to check out other cell phone companies. 3G isn't available and I won't give up my EDVO speeds to Verizon it is.

My fully informed rep hooked me up with VKemo Beta last week. I know nothing about this kind of equipment, so they want me testing it. I am on the unlimited plan...I get up to 5 treatments a month. Anything over that and they say I am slinging drugs...its a breach of their unlimited plan contract and they cancel my service and send me a small pine box. But, I can't access it while I am on the extended network...its dials #lol, and then I just get the user name screen with an empty password. I have downgraded the stack though so that I can tether to my IV without having to pay any extra cost. SHHH! They don't know I Te..er. Oh, and VKemo has a camera version.

I am jesting as well...I totally laughed when I read your creative comment exposing VZW in such a raw way.
