Im not sure how important this is but Sprints release schedule was leaked to Engadget Mobile.
They list the 6800 for a May release. Last I heard nobody had a release date for the 6800 on Verizon, but usually Verizon gets the "good phones" before Sprint, and in the past Verizon has chosen to launch phones near each other so maybe this could signal a May release of the 6800 and the 760.
I searched this thread and didn't see this mentioned - my corp rep just informed me that the 760 will have the Rev0 chip - NOT Rev A. - too bad!
That information was talked about earlier (three character words can't be searched for). Also in the i760 FAQ, it lists the specifications, including the Rev 0 EVDO...

I still hear from Ethan end of May, or first week of June, but someone else, rather reputable said June 30. Only problem is June 30 is a Saturday, and I haven't head of Verizon releasing equipment on a Saturday. I thought most releases were on a Tuesday.
Anyway, I am still checking regularly for updates and possibly a locked down date. As of right now, consider that it is very likely before the end of June that it will be out, and not later.
So we will find out as the time goes, but that's still what I am being told.

Nothing to apologize for. At over a 1000 posts, it makes things confusing. I, for one, appreciate it. If for any other reason, news is starting to dissiminate to corporations.

Seems like Sometimes VZW preannounces the next week's releases after close of business on Fridays?
Wonder how long until Photon is out? Please, not another two years.
Still thinking SCH-i760 is just a SCH-i730 with a facelift and different shade of lipstick.

I dont think anyone desagress with your assessment. However, I will be jumping on this ASAP. This will hold me over until the next generaiton device is in produciton.

I believe both devices got FCC approval if not on the same day right around the same date. This website is doing preorders for the SGH-i760 for the release date listed as May 17th. You think that will be the same date release for your beloved SCH-i760? I personally think it may be June still, but it's just a guess. I know some peeps working on a camera and apparently WM6 so I'm most definitely sticking with my i730, but just thought I'd see what you thought of the date for your device if you thought it may match. It's the only website I've seen doing preorders for any of these devices.
EDIT: Wait a sec..that's a store in my old home town of Chicago Illinois..?? Why are they selling this? I would think it would only come out of Japan, Korea, and Europe..weird. A new spec on it is AKU 3 where the others listed 2.0. It's $999. Isn't that the price of the i730 when it first came out? Or was it lower? I can't remember.
Not trying to start anything, but it's new info that may correspond to the other i760 as well, staying on topic and all that..so I don't see the reason I should get flamed, though I guess it could happen..so whatever.
"There are no applications on file that match the search criteria specified:
Grantee Code: A3L; Product Code: SGHI760"
This suggests that the SGH-i760 wasn't submitted to the FCC; and it need not have been, as Samsung won't be selling it here.
This "Popular Electronics" dude is apparently an importer. Awkward choice of business name, as he risks being shut down for trademark infringement.
Still, you're right. Sammy should have given us that device--not necessarily instead of the SCH model, but in addition. If it had 850MHz, it would be compelling for Cing/AT&T. Our best advice now: Let it go...
this may be old news but it gave me a glimmer of hope....I sent an email to my verizon rep asking for help in getting the sch i760 when it was released....to which he replied
"That is no problem. I don't have a launch date for it yet, but there will also be 2 additional Windows devices about the same time."
to which I replied...which ones are those and he replied
"Different, I can't send out any internal info but your can find them on the web as the HTC 6800 and 5800."
So if the 6800 is coming out in May this gives me hope the I760 will be coming then as well!! This is the same guy who got me the I730 a day before it was released to the world!! Keeping my fingers crossed my 730 will last till then........

Thanks for the info BAM. I wasn't asking about the SGH i760 because I want to get it, I was mentioning it because I thought if there was a date given it may correspond to the date of the SCH i760. In this way I thought it would be relevant to the SCHi760 thread. I may be looking at the SGH i760 for closure perhaps But I'm not trying to hold on to the of me getting it, and was not trying to convey that with wondering why it was being sold in a US state. I just thought that was weird since it is intended for over seas use.
Something tells me that we won't see the i760 until after the "buy a Samsung phone get one free" promo ends. Does anyone have any idea when it will end?

Well good news, they are showing as out of stock on the website today.
Could we be on target for a May 14th release like some of the rumors have speculated? I can hope.
