Are you saying that VZW could have cancelled, or that Samsung could have? This is very confusing to me, since I thought that either VZW had contracted with Sammy to develop the phone, or that VZW had contracted with Sammy to buy it. Either way, I thought that a contract was in place, and that it would be difficult to break it.
This is very interesting (not to mention discouraging).

It can happen, it has happened, and they did destroy the inventory. Less we forget the Samsung SCH-i630 that was suppose to be the successor to the SCH-i600. It was near this same stage in the game that the i760 is now when the i630 was scrapped.
That being said, I don't expect this to happen, nor do I want this to happen, but the fact is that it has happened
I spoke with my B2B rep yesterday, I told him that if he can order the phone now I would line up a bunch of orders for him. He is supposed to get back to me before the end of the week.
If you are interested please let me know. I will post as soon as I hear back from him.
ya know when I first read the post about a possible successor to the sch i760 i was pretty annoyed...thinking that might be a possibility and it would be my luck that as soon as i got the i760 a new replacement would show up on the horizon....but then i thought about it.....I have nothing to worry about...Its been a year since there was any rumor of the i760.. no rumor of any new phone yet....so by the time this i760 comes out and i get it...My NE2 will be up and woooohooooo..so i can live with it...
~ the not so annoyed anymore ryno

You suck too... (read the manual or the FAQ, it has the procedure in both...)
It's not WM6.1, it's OFFICE 6.1, which will be available in a download, and we will be able to update it ourselves, without needing a ROM update. MS designed the new OS to handle updates without needing a full ROM update for some items, just like Office. The main reason for it, is the Office 6.0 doesn't support Office 2007 (PC), so with this update, it will allow it to open the various documents on our mobile devices, which I was hoping would be out before I got my WM6 device...
not to go all "I told ya so" here, but... dude, I PMed you DAYS before the second round of releases showed up here and told ya the sku was back in the system!! -the next best thingsto me having one, is YOU having one!!
Rut Ro ... am I the only one concerned that there may be another release rumor thread on the horizon ????
Believe me I am not going to jump on the i760 the first day it comes out. (maybe the second day lol)I have a strong feeling that VZW will release another nice PDA within 6 months for the summer push.

Yeah, I hear ya, in 6 months, my i760 will be old already!
WOW! That would be amazing. My friend in Atlanta with RevA get consistent 30-60ms ping times. It's hard to believe something would be faster, since that would be better than cable or DSL!
Bill
wow....this thread moves fast!
My comment on latency was something I had read a a while back....before RevA was even lit up... It was a Verizon engineer on an evdo panel, talking about the network viability for voip & video...there was a lot there in the topic of bandwidth/latency/packet loss/jitter/etc....thought it was interesting...
I personally don't have experience with either RevA or hsdpa....unfortunately....
Please wait for a Verizon Wireless sales representative to assist you with your order. Thank you for your patience!
A Verizon Wireless online pre-sales specialist has joined the chat. You are now chatting with Tonya
Tonya: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
XXXX: Hi Tonya: I am on the Samsung site and it is listing a phone carried by Verizon. the i760, I can not find it on your site, when will be released? the link on samsung is: SAMSUNG SCH-I760 Verizon Wireless-mobile phones
Tonya: I do not see that device offered on the site at this time, but I would check with our Telesales Department at 800-256-4646.
XXXX: Would the telesales dept. be able to see inventory that you would not?
Tonya: Right, we have access to the devices as they are offered online to help choose one to order with new or upgrading customers, I am sorry about that.
That was a conversation with online sales rep....
I figured I would try... LOL!!
Anyone else notice that one the samsung website, it shows the i760 as only supporting the old micro sd's (not HC's) meaning a limit of 2gb? I was under the impression it would support the new Micro SDHC's meaning a limit of up to 32 gigs when the cards finally reach that point. That may be a breaking point. This phone already has enough "old" technology in it, if this is truly the case, I'm done waiting for this one and moving on.
