VZW knows that everyone knows about the testmain. its a useless point of referal. just a waste of time since it loads slow.

the voyager i dea is almost as stupid as those stupid chocolate phones. if i wanted a chocolate phone i would dip my 730 in chocolate frosting

I currently HAD the data plan on my phone, and when I upgraded, they still gave me the $100 discount for keeping the data plan. There isn't any time limit on when you can use it

As someone pointed out above, the mainstream of VZW user are parents and teens who have no particular needs for PDA. This news aboyt Voyager is all over the place now, and it could be one of the reasona they are delaying i760 or xv6800, as this is the "bigger" hit that VZW think would be.

It will be interesting to see if Verizon even hits these targets for release. I assume they will since no doubt these were originally slated as an iPhone response long ago and have probably slipped as far as they need to.

What's funny is that despite all this fanfare, the reality is that all they're doing is catching up, it's only going to help them keep customers. AT&T is not standing still and has a very full launch schedule itself, as does Sprint.

I'm also assuming that if there is a release of the i760 anytime soon, the marketing push is going to be minimal, this is where their focus is going to be. The q9m didn't have much of a push either. If they were really going to push the i760 marketing, you'd think they would have included it here or waited on this until after they launched the i760.

So I've been calling the VZW sales number every morning since last Monday inquiring about the phone. Not that I was expecting someone to say "Yes they are now available, would you like one?" But it is interesting the difference in how fast they come back and say it's not available. I think I will keep a log. It will at least keep me occupied waiting for this phone to come out.

Funny but i have been doing the same thing for about a week and I keep hearing different stories about the release dates. The best one was this morning when the lady I asked didn't even put me on hold and stated that the phone wouldn't be released until some time in 2008!

I love corporate communications.

It looks like the i760 is no where in the near future....

If you look at the release dates for the 4 new phones revealed today....
They extend all the way into November...

Juke, Venus, Pearl and Voyager available in less than month and a half (phone Arena)

These phones have been announced.... I can only imagine the wait on the i760 which has not been announced yet!!!!

Checked the VZW store in the Tysons VA area and as always they are clueless.

I understand people feel that VZW is holding this phone back so they can make the most profit from whatever marketing campaign they are doing for other phones. I don't understand why they just can't do a silent release? From what others have said here it would seem the i760 is aimed at business anyways. Don't put it in store, don't advertise it, they dont even have to put it online. Just let us, who are obviously not going to buy anything else, order it over the phone.

How would that hurt their sales of other products in any way?

What gets me about the delays is that many people that bought either the i730 or the 6700 now have to use their NE2 on something that they don't want or loose it. Maybe they are trying to make more money off of us by forcing us to buy a new device at full retail price. If the 760 is not out by the end of my contract I will be jumping ship.

What is wrong with Verizon????

I just can't believe that they apparently don't care about what their customers want. But this crap with the i760 confirms it. I am stuck with them until January but I will try to get out sooner (because I signed up in early 2006, I don't get a pro-rated termination fee). I also am going to write them from home tonight and tell them what I really feel about their network.

This phone should have been available months ago, it apparently works based on the words of those lucky few who got the errant releases. This is totally unacceptable BS. As has been pointed out other companies are now coming out with WM6 phones and I don't believe this phone will be release until sometime after hell freezes over. So bye bye Verizon.

Exclamation FWIW

FWIW, I just got a release date from my rep. He has never given me any dates before, and has been very tight lipped about any details. At this point, I fear that revealing the exact date he gave me may further jinx our possibilities... so I'll just say that if he's accurate, look for it on the week of the 15th.

like someone said, based on release dates of VZW's fall collection, it's almost certain the earliest this phone will come is December.

now people are starting to finally understand. many i730 owners have until mid-January to buy a new phone, any phone, or they will lose their NE2. people have said my concern is some kind of vapor, mainly because they just knew the i760 was coming out "soon." but as January creeps closer, now it's becoming more real that VZW's idiotic actions will cost them $100.

I'm fading....

To be completely honest....I'm getting weaker by the day....The letdown every morning is taking it's toll on me....and my 6700 is not getting any better...

If it doesn't get released by 10/8, I'll probably go get the crappy Q9M....I can always pass it on to someone else in my company and get the i760 when it finally comes out....I just hate spending the time to get setup and aquainted on a new device...only to have to do it all over in a couple of weeks....however the time i've spent checking this forum i could have gone through 10 different devices...bah...

here's a sobering thought....at this pace, it'll be just about 2011 before we get the next generation WinWo device from VZW....

you have to use it within six months of your contract ending. because many people here, including myself, bought their i730s in July 2005, they'll have until January 2008 to use it or lose it.

I love this site but I'm really getting sick of getting let down because all these new people who claim that they have been reading this for days, months, years but they had to sign up "today" because they have this "NEWS BREAKING RELEASE DATE" and they HAVE to let us know about it then I stay up all night to get up to date info from this site to get up real early to call Verizon to be told "NOT OUT"!! I know this is the release rumor forum but wtf what compels a person to sign up for this forum just to pull dates out of a hat to say there mothers, uncle who was once there aunt has this great great grandkid who's girfriend works for verizon and said the 5th,8th,15th or 19th is the date.... I know I"m still new myself and don't know not one thing about PDA phones but I come to this site to learn and get this phone and I'm sick of these guys getting me all pumped up about nothing!!! CUT THE CRAP ok I'm done.. now any new rumor dates

but in regards to your NE2 didn't you guys sign some contract (from what I have been reading from you guys) that said that Verizon would come out w/new business phones w/in the next 2 years for you to upgrade so if they don't hold up to there part of there deal why should you guys (or girls) do the same? You guys should start this HUGE complaint campain and send it to all the big phone forums how Verizon B2B Customers don't want to take it anymore see how Verizon handels that press ... I know you guys have been saying that your only a small % of the big picture for Verizon but neg. press is neg. press no? I rememeber having that Moto phone (first bluetooth phone) and those people all got involved (I joined and added my name) and Verizon due to all the bad press ended up giving us a few free months or something .. at least it's something
