I just talked to my B2B rep down stairs in the cafeteria.
He said that it will be released VERY soon. Could not give exact date (I think next week)
He said that it will be a rolling release on the west coast first. However, he said that I should give him my e-mail and that he will try to get it for me (on the east coast) when it starts to be released on the west coast.
I'm not in any hurry to get this the first day it's released.

I as well am highly anticipating this phone, but im afraid going from the i730 that i have been usiong for 2 years to the i760 is going to be a minor letdown at first because of the same level of evdo service...
I use the i730 for integration with outlook for my office (they pay for the phone, data plan, the works).. but i have been wanting something new for some time, especially something with a camera..
So as soon as this puppy is available in Long Island NY, someone let me know!

Mark, based on the conversations I had the past few days with my rep, I think you're absolutely right in that the i760 will first be available on the West Coast with an East Coast release within a week or so after the West Coast release. Now, why VZW would release on one side of the country and not the other baffles me. The only thing I can think of is some issue with distribution centers.

It is almost to the point where I am ready to go GSM on verizon. Right now I can WM6, GPS reciever, full keyboard, 2-3 megapixel camera, international compatability, and a company that gets my bill correct. Outside of data rates, someone please convince me I am wrong. Tell me I have not been the stupid party in this business relationship for the last 6 years.
Ok, that is out of my system. Back to topic.
One of our purchasing agents was just asked to sign a Verizon non-disclousure yesterday for a meeting Thusday. She is a by the book person so I know I won't get much out of her, but I wonder if there is something bigger than the i760 in the works that affects the marketing plan of the phone.
Has anyone else heard of verizon recently taking a customer aside for such a private discussion?
I have a feeling that Dzanda is on to something here. How many times have we gotten bad info on the release of this phone? How many other phones have you seen that the info online shrinks? And, from my marketing experience and classes, why would you keep a phone so secret? It makes no sense. Also, Non Disclosure Agreements are not uncommon in trading partners. Especially if the office has a number of lines and does a lot of business with them. This ensures that if the company is getting a break for doing so much business that other businesses don't get wind of this. Not an uncommon practice.
All I am saying is that we should not hold our breath on this phone too much longer, or your purple color will be more permanent.
Verizon Wireless is not sharing any information; with anyone (Not even thier own employees, below a certain level). Currently the phone is not in the VZW system, it has been blocked, anyone who is saying other wise is lying to promote hype. Both My uncle and best friend work for verizon (Uncle = VZW Network specialists / Best Friend = VZ FIOS Supervisor) in the North East. Neither can see the phone in the system (Both have access to VZW Intranet). They are being tight lipped because of the 40+ who got the early release.
If you want to be upset, be upset at those who circumvented the system between 9/14-9/18; as they are directly correlated with the "EXTRA" delay.
As for me ... I will wait until one of the above mentioned parties confirms it is on the system, before I get happy about ANY DATE.

Nobody "circumvented the system". That's a retarded statement. The system has to be used to order, deliver, and bill the customers.

Obviously... You have no idea what I meant by that "circumvent" statement.
But that's OK!
Let's keep the forum on track... There is no "Official Release" date: 10/5 and/or 10/18 are rumors and should not be held with any regard....

I don't think they circumvented the system. The i760 became available. They got it. VZW screwed up, not them or us.

Calling a CSR and giving them a sku #; is a "loop hole"; it is not the process/system VZW utilizes to deliver thier phones to thier clients.
I certainly do not do that. How about you?
As I mentioned to "crafty" earlier..

Did Crafty even need the SKU to order this? As far as I know, I thought his b2b rep found it in the system and ordered it. I thought the SKU info came afterward from his email confirmation when others were requesting it to try to order. I could be mistaken, but either way... the SKU was live... that's on them.

Like I said earlier...
I am done posting...
No one reads entire statements..
They zone in on one thing...
Last post for me... you guys have fun getting worked up regarding release dates, that people no closer to information than you are posting......
As was stated earlier, all release dates are rumors. Nothing is set in stone. The other day I broke down and had Verizon send me a replacement I730 since my last one crashed everytime I got a call. After trying to activate the replacement online I was told to call customer service to finish the activation. Do to some problems finishing the process (that's what happenes when Verizon sends you a refurbished phone), I was transfered to a higher level tech. While trying to find a solution to the activation problem, he asked why I chose to get a replacement when I was clearly able to get a new upgrade. I told him that Verizon didn't have any pda's worth purchasing now, (he suggested the 6700). I finally figured I'd throw it out there and asked if he could get me the 760. He laughed and referred to it as the infamous 760. He said that he was very well aware of it, but that it was still not available. I told him I had heard rumors that there was possibily sales going through B2B. He told me hang on and he'd look. He came back and said that the phone is in their system but that it is unavailable for sale through any of Verizon's outlets B2B or B2C and that he had heard rumors himself but nothing that could be validated. He told me he was under the impression that it would definately be released by the end of October but not to go by that. What I am getting at with this story is that there is nothing to lead any of us to believe that this is imminently happening and that all of these stories of B2B sales and and store sales people saying that they are getting their shipment later today are either misinformed or just complete fabrications by people in this forum who think it is funny to get other people excited for no reason. As far as I am concerned it is great to read all of these posts and there is some interesting thoughts and ideas being shared but waiting and hoping is just not worth it at this point. The phone will eventualy be released. We all agree on that. What I think this forum should be more geared toward is what relevance will this phone have upon it's release. I am certain that reps from all of the wireless companies troll this and other sites like this. By continuing to provicate the rumors of this and other phones releases we are just helping them justify creating a "buzz" for the product as a reason for holding back the release. In short, when people stop caring about this kind of thing we send a message to the Verizon's of the world that we as consumers have a limited amount of patience and will not help them by waiting around with baited breathe for them to grace us with their product. I'm giving Verizon till November 1st for this phone. If it is not available by then I am jumping to another wireless company. Sorry to be so long winded but hey I had a lot to say and no new phone to play with.
Latest word is that the AT&T version of the Kaiser/Tytn II/Tilt is to launch Friday, 5 Oct. What are the odds that these two idiot companies have been jockeying to release competitively with one another?
Or, for the consipracy theorists out there, are they conspiring together to drive us all crazy, regardless of network or device manufacturer?

Quoted for truth. I never called with a sku #. The rep ordered it as they order anything else.
Yes, linfordg, let's keep this on track and not play the "blame the customer" game.
Can't wait for this thing to just get released, again. Good luck all
I have been following this thread since June and honestly spend way too much time keeping up with the great information posted here. Anyway,
testman is now showing the Moto Q and Q9m as out of stock.
Tomorrow will be interesting after the release of the 4 new phones, to see if Verizon finally sets a date for only phone anyone really cares about.
