A little birdy flew in to my window. It sat there on the window sill, looked at me rather funny, and said, "Verizon i760, possibly in May..." and then flew away...
Take that for what it's worth, and don't hold the month in stone, as that is an estimated "anticipated" time period for release... Could be sooner, could be later, but that's what the birdy told me...

Is there -- is there balm in Gilead? -- tell me -- tell me, I implore!
Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

Ok.. while we wait for the I760 and any new word.. Who Here is going to Jump into/onto the VISTA wagon? are you going to go with the Ultimate, or less, or or nothing.
I have a Licensed copy that i haven't installed.. but am contimplating putting the Ultimate on my machine. Problem is, i see there is a list of 30 things that Vista doesn't know what to do with.

The birdy was calling from a Verizon telephone number at a Verizon corporate office, and isn't named Edgar (as in the Raven), but more along the lines of Mr. Hunt... Ethan Hunt..

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!

Has anyone noticed that infoSync World has changed their citation for the SCH-i760 to reflect a March '07 release date? I'd swear that the release date was blank or 'unknown', or something similar until recently.
I sure hope that they know what they're talking about!
Which reminds me, I still haven't seen the i-760 on the FCC page... am I looking in the wrong place?

I am dual booting Vista Business & XP, I have been since last summer, but with the full release I almost never have reason to boot into XP anymore. I love it.

Last night, my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday. Because my birthday's not until May, I didn't give her question much consideration. Now that Michael has heard from Ethan, I think I have the answer to my wife's question!

Here is some more information I "found out" and am able to share:
1. The small grill like structure on the bottom is not the speakers, it's has a single hole where the Microphone is.
2. Micro-SD
3. Stylus is nice, but could be a bit longer, but still works well.
4. A "bit" longer than the i730 body, but shorter if you count the antenna. "Feels significantly thinner than the i730". About the same width.
5. OS feels faster and more responsive, and overall speed is nice.
6. Speakers are located "between" the two slides, still has decent speaker phone.
7. I asked specifically about T9, but was told "can't answer that", but was told to look at photos of the keypad on the front. I can only assume that on the * key, with the UP arrow, that it should have T9, or another text entry with the keypad for most screens (my assumption)
8. "Battery life is better than my i730" (that was the statement).
9. I was told to go check out a Cingular Blackjack, as the overall size was the same, just a bit thicker.
10. Depending on how you hold the phone, it was fairly easy to bump the talk and end buttons, but more the talk. Said the way he holds the phone made it easy to bump with his thumb. Said he had to rearrange the location of thumb placement and then it wasn't a problem (said he talks mostly with his left ear side).
11. Front button placement and directional pad is excellent for right handed users. Said it balanced the phone perfectly and made movements quick. The directional pad was the "right size"
12. LED is right in the ear piece, so when you are on the phone, others don't see any blinking.
13. Camera was "decent".
14. Backlight button was located on the top of the phone for quick turn off.
15. Volume controls were nice, felt about the same as the i730, and were in about the same location.
16. Windows Key on the side and shares the button with the voice dial, didn't say what voice dialing software was on it. Said it would have been nice to have the windows button closer to the directional pad.
17. Keypad and keyboard keys were "nice" and felt good when typing.
18. He couldn't/wouldn't go in to much detail about the OS and what was on it (program wise), but that Verizon was getting their GetItNow stuff working on Windows Mobile so you could make over-the-air purchases (didn't say whether it was just Verizon apps, or a tie in to some other online store).
19. Voice Record button is in the same place as the Voice Signal button was on the i730, so it's easier NOT to press it, and it's recessed just like the other side keys.
20. Locking is all software based, works very well under WM6.
21. Release date. He said Verizon was trying to get it out first before other WM6 devices hit the market, but if others came out, then they might hold off a bit for more testing. He said they wanted it out by May, which could be earlier, or if something weird happens, could be later (typical Verizon answer...).
That's about all I got for now, and hopefully I didn't overstep what he told me by repeating it, but that's what I got, which isn't much, but at least it sums it up in one post...

Thanks Michael. Bout time we got some "insider" info. I'm tired of reading people simply paraphrasing the same info over and over to make it look like they know something new.
