Could it be possible that these discrepancies with the launch dates people are mentioning are becasue of b2b and retail releases? Perhaps the CSRs are giving out the retail release date of Oct 4/5, when it will really become available to business customers on the 24th? Either way... I wouldn't count on Verizon reps knowing too much. When the Q9m came out in stores, I went to my local store to go look at it. It was nowhere in site and nobody had even heard of it. I asked if they can go check in the back, and sure enough they came back out with a Q9m and a bunch of promotional material like the giant posters that go on the windows. I didn't get a thanks for launching the phone for them...
The release of the I760 has proven just how inept VZW really is. I wonder if any of their upper management reads this forum. If so, they should have a sinking feeling about how they execute.
Should we have heard something 'official' yet if next week is the release date, even if it's just b2b first? Also, is there a way for me to order via b2b without a rep?

Or they have a feeling of empowerment over the little people.
Just called customer service about getting my pic messages to work...The lady put me on hold for like 10 min and told me this phone is not for sale and not sure how I received one...I played dumb and just said you sent the phone to me..I just want it to work....No luck so far..
lol, I knew this was going to happen.
People calling for support.
You guys crack. me up.
If you want support mail your device to MRailing or SD.
Those are the people that should have this device now not ex Treo users complaining how the device isn't a Treo........lol

Well I'm glad to see the phone is getting close to release considering the whole early launch and all.
I can't wait to finally get rid of my Q which seems to be crash happy lately and go back to a PPC phone. I'm still in debate over this or the XV6800, but I hated the 6700 and who knows when Verizon will actually put out firmware for Rev-A support.
I stopped in a Verizon Store in CT today. They didn't have a dummy phone (or said they didn't), but I did see a Sales Sheet (or Sales "Flash") from Verizon with a big picture of the i760. From what I could read upside down it called the phone "Highly Anticipated" and "Soon to be released". But of course, it lacked any kind of date. All the tech guy would say was "soon".
ronmac, are you concerned about the layout or buttonology of the i760 vs the WX?
I am a bit worried that the button layout is going to be a bit harder to learn than was the case on the Q9.
I am looking forward to many things on this device such as wifi, larger screen and all the WM6 "upgrades" so much so that i think it will be worth the wait until the rumored September 24th release date (see how I kept on topic there ). The one thing I am eager to see is how well the keyboard feels as one handed typing is great but no where near a deal breaker for me.
I did read the earlier rview of the 760 compared to the 700wx and I truly beleive that all the issues are based on personal preferences and not really something that I will base my opinion on.

As I stated in a post to another worried person, It's ok I have faith in you. I think you'll be able to master the "button layout".
If need be we can setup a support group for people that are worried or scared. That's what we're for. Be patient and be brave.
