My i760 story went from good to bad and back to good today. I was able to sweet-talk a VZW CSR Friday morning into ordering the i760 for me (see my post yesterday). I paid extra for overnight delivery so I could receive it today. I checked my credit card account later yesterday morning and saw that the charges had indeed gone through. I thought all was well. Then, late yesterday when all of the posts showed up here about VZW getting wise and cancelling sme orders, I became concerned. I went back and checked my credit card and the charges were indeed gone! I also never received a tracking number. I resolved that I'd have to wait until the 24th. So, this morning I started a major project replacing the flooring in my study. I had to leave for a while to get some supplies. When I got back, there was the FedEx door-hanger on my front door! The delivery required a signature so they didn't leave it. I had to drive over to the FedEx distribution point to pick it up. When I got home I charged it up and activated over the phone, (online didn't work for some reason). Now I'm all charged up to use it and learn al about it, but.... I have to finish 154 square feet of laminate flooring! I'll post my impressions tomorrow.
congrats on the new fone., Hope your Phloring goes in crooked. (just kidding).

After reading some post about Verizon cancelling orders, I was also afraid of my order being cancelled because I didn't recieve a tracking number. So I decided to give them a call, turns out my order went through and I recieved the tracking number over the phone. My phone is expected on Tuesday. I'm so excited.
Ok, this thread is off topic again. THIS ISN'T A CATCH ALL FOR SUPPORT OR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE i730....
So unless you now have some question relating to the release, please take all comments and FIRST SEARCH or LOOK for existing threads, and if not, create a new thread on the subject. Leave this thread to RELEASE information only...

If you have already received your phone can you please post pictures and blogs on how it's working for you? I'm sure we would all be very appreciative. :]
This is on-topic, but perhaps not all that interesting in light of the fact that some people are actually receiving the phone.
Last night I stopped by the Verizon kiosk in The Pyramid Mall in Ithaca, NY, and, as I have done many times over the last few weeks, asked if they had the Samsung i760 dummy phone. And to my amazement, last night, for the first time, they did.
I may have missed it, but I think this may be the first sighting of even the dummy phone on the east coast. Or maybe not.
In any case, I was actually pretty pleased with the size, look, and feel of this dummy phone. I don't really have anything to compare it to, but if what everyone who has handled both the dummy and the real phone is saying is true--that the real thing looks and feels much better than the dummy--I will be thrilled. (I'm now hoping I didn't see a later generation dummy that is closer to the real thing than the dummys everyone else has been reporting on.)
Also of some interest...
The rep who was helping me was really into the phones. He was extremely knowledgable, and struck me as the kind of guy who could very well be reading these forums and others. To steal a line from one of my favorite television shows, The West Wing, "He's one of us."
Anyway, we chatted about the phone (and the 6800 dummy, which he also set in front of me, but which I barely looked at), and I said something about the only feature that mattered to me that the 6800 had, and that no one knew whether the i760 would have or not, was upgradeability to Rev A. This rep, who has no inside info, except for the fact that he's probably been working for Verizon for a while, said that he could not imagine the i760 being released without the ability to upgrade to Rev A. He thought based on the direction Verizon Wireless was going, that the i760 would be upgradeable. Again, this is just conjecture on his part, but somewhat educated conjecture.

While his opinion and experience may be interesting, the i760 has never been represented as being able to be upgraded to Rev A. In fact, most "people in the know" have said the hardware would not support such an upgrade.
The 6800, on the other hand, has been positioned as a phone that will be support Rev A.
So, if the two phones are released on the 24th of September, one will be known as being able to support Rev A and one will not. If you absolutely think you need Rev A (even though it will not be ubiquitous until the next batch of phones are released), you should think twice before the i760. If, on the other hand, you need a front dial pad, and can wait for Rev A to be rolled out more completely, than go with the i760 (unless VZW officially says that the 760 can be upgraded).

Okay, I come back online only to find people ordered the 760 and I am fuming I didn't get a call from my business rep!!! So, it's Sunday and I call *611 in the hope that I can get the ball rolling on a Sunday (FYI the biz office isn't open). They tell me that the I760 has a flag on it that they are not to take any orders! Apparently, the few who were able/resourceful enough were lucky! (damn them!!!)
So my quest continues... Sure I could wait and do nothing till the 24th, but why????

Sorry to inform you, your Business Rep Still doesn't know it's release date, and They didn't even know it was available for the short period of time. As far as I knEw (then), only one Business rep Knew it's availability prior to last Thursday, thanks to Crafty.
So, don't bash your B2B person, they will know it's release date when you call him / her and say ORDER IT for me.
I love when it gets close to release around here, we become amusing. The B2Bs crack the egg, the rest of us whine, the people who have been on the board for a week demand to know how they can get one, the blurry pictures go up, the SKUs come out, and 3,000 people who have been moderated to keep everything in a single 290 page thread cower in fear of starting new threads. Well, except the inevitable case and Today screen threads...
I'm surprised nobody has posted a FedEx shipping label for those who want to form a caravan and attack the points of origin. Hopefully the eager among us can keep cool until Halo Day, I'm looking forward to reading about everyone's likes and dislikes soon. I'm surprised there are so few pictures, but that's probably due to post traumatic stress disorder.

That's not completely true.
There has been at least one report here (and possibly more) of people hearing from their B2B reps that the phone will be Rev A upgradeable. There have also been hints at us being "pleasantly surprised" when we see the real specs on the phone. So I offered the above as one more data point.
I will be getting the i760 because there are many aspects of it that I like over the 6800 that are more important to me than Rev A upgradeability. So even if it won't be Rev A upgradeable, it's the phone I'll be getting. What I had said was that the only feature on the 6800 that I had any interest in that might not be on the i760 was the Rev A upgradeability.

I want my 7-60! (Sing it to the tune of "I want my MTV!!!)
There isn't a Specific release date from what i have Seen or heard, the 24th is speculation. and is probably B2B.
Thank you for answering that. As for the Northwest (WA State), there hasn't been so much as a dummy phone anywhere or info to boot! I have heard about the 6800 and thats all. I am hoping for the 24th to be for general retail. Thanks all again,

So I decided to give them a call, turns out my order went through and I recieved the tracking number over the phone. My phone is expected on Tuesday. I'm so excited.
I ordered at about 7:50 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday through regular customer service (not B2B), got my email order confirmation at 8:04. Have not received any tracking number, and, like you, assumed that was a bad sign. So, I just called the "telesales" number I was given by the CS rep on Friday to ask the status. She said the order is schedule to ship first thing Monday morning and I will definitely have it by 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. I said, so the order doesn't show as canceled or anything, to which she replied, "oh, no, not at all." So, we'll see...
For anyone that cares, I have had many PDA phones, and this thing has the best bluetooth stacks of any phone so far! So much for VZW crippling bluetooth!
Care to open a thread and talk about it? Please don't bury it here, this thread will probably get locked a few days after release.
Ambient Sky said the headset integration with Voice Command is nice, too.

Sleeve, I have missed your always-pointed and dryly-amusing posts. Glad to see you back!

.
Again, B2B reps don't know any more that what YOU have told them. The Samsung Rep i saw at the Upward Mobility was Pretty certain it did not have Rev A. and i think the tone of Pretty certain meant IT DID NOT have Rev A, never did, never will.
again, ya'll can post in here stating that you have heard Rev A and be as off topic as this post. but When (now on topic) 9/24/07 comes along and you get to order, spend the extra $20, so you get it the next day. (off topic again) you soon be a believer that the phone is truly Rev 0.
I want my Phone Now. Now G d It. (said to the tune of Cartman)

Hey Thrizzle,
I was able to find dummy phones at the Redmond store and the Circuit City store in Bellevue.
