You can buy the one up on ebay for $1400 BIN, that way you SHOULD have it by Tuesday.
Other then that there is NO way to have it ordered. VZW HQ sent all call centers an email stating that the phone was no longer available until "official" release. They pulled the SKU's from inventory so they are "out of stock".
Hope this clears things up.

We have waited almost a year..just 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and then....its here. So umm..I'm not upset...I'm not angry....I'm excited... I know, I know we have waited oh so long....But all that aside..Shouldn't we be celebrating now????

I got mine today. I had to leave work early for appointments, so it arrived while I was already gone. I just went back and picked it up a little ago after a family member's birthday party. This is a sweet little phone. The slider is pretty slick.....nice and sturdy though....nothing like the demo phones. I still need to activate it and then play!!
Tried every VZW 1800 or 1888 # posted on this forum but everyone I spoke with said the same thing - it isn't available yet. And on top of that, they refused to believe that folks (like crafty) already have it.
So, finally I found my B2B rep and he showed me a dummy model of the i760 - i like the smaller size. The side sliding keyboard might take some to get used to after the i730 but the small size makes it worth it. Rather lame though that it took 2yrs for an upgrade which really isn't such a major upgrade. Can you even imagine what the iPhone will look have to offer in 2009????
Anyway, from the dummy I couldn't tell if the keyboard was backlit or not. And neither could I find the stylus. Can a i760 owner shed some light on these things?
Finally, the rep told me that the official launch for the north east is Sept 24 - as noted in some of the posts in this forum. He said that it was released in the south as a test bed as the north east market was too huge and important to use for testing in case issue arose.
Well I'm leaving for Punta Cana at 6am Sat. and won't be back until late night the 22nd so at least that will take up 7 days of my wait ... so you guys are going to show me how to use this thing right

Both keypads are backlit (the actual numbers/letters are lit)...and there is an option in the power setting to disable the backlight during a certain timeframe as well.
Stylus is in the right side of the phone...it is by the number 6 key. It also retracts/extends...when you pull it out it is extended and then when you put it back in it collapses smaller.

I thought I would share my story today. This morning, at 9:00 eastern time, I was able to order the i760, an accessory pack, and the data plan. With all charges, it came to $270. I called tonight to get the tracking info, and they have put a blackberry 8830 in its place. They still have the data plan on my account, but somehow they canceled my order (even though I gave them me CC# and listened to the 5 minute stupid verizon legal recording). Looks like I have some more phone calls to make to try to fix it (I do not want a black berry anywhere near me!!).

yep, i must have called several different reps, and over 15-30 times before i got the word northeast = not getting it early.
Called *611 to place an order, and the rep was adamant that the phone had not been released yet, and was saying that if it came out, he would grab one real quick...Anyway, he, too didn't beleive me when I told him that others had ordered the phone...He kept guaranteeing me that the phone won't release until a month...I said WHATEVER, and hung up...
Called business sales number immediately, and talked to a pleasant lady who said: "Oh yeah, we caught that mistake and had to cancel some orders...It was a mistake, and someone had started to roll the ball when they weren't supposed too." Anyway, they told me that had been remedied by removing the SKU from their database, and will be releasing them soon...I told her that I should have called yesterday, and she laughed in agreement...
BTW when I initially talked to the *611 rep, he put me on hold and talked to tech support and said I was the 3rd caller looking for this phone...I bet they were all from this board....LOL
Okay, I've been traveling all day and when I tried to log on earlier from my phone I got the "server busy" message, so I apologize for not posting an update earlier.
Anyways, to the 68 of you that PMed or emailed me last night before midnight, I sent your mobile numbers and names (if you included them) on to our VZW rep. He called me Friday morning and said he was only able to order phones in states west of Colorado (CO, WY, NM, ID, UT, AZ, NV, ID, WA, and CA). After I called Mark_A_K, to see if he got his phone, I spoke to our rep again and he said he was able to get to a few of you in the states listed above, before the system locked down.
If you live in the states above, I'm sure he'd be happy to place your order once the 24th rolls around. -Not sure if thats even necessary, if you can order it direct from 611 and/or biz services.
...My phone will be here today (Saturday), woo-hoo!
Wow, crazy couple of days, huh!? -It makes me smile we collectively pissed off verizon!!
