I am in AZ, I was not able to get in touch with my B2B rep until 1030 or so and by the time she tried to order the phone, she said their system showed the SKU as "On Hold".
You can not order it any more until the official release.

man i love the internet. i know VZW execs were going batty in the past day or so. i just hope some lowly data entry clerk doesn't get suspended or reprimanded over this.
Any idea if they are going to take pre-orders next week so if we have the phone shipped, we will receive it on release day? I know a lot of other companies do this...but of course, this is Verizon...what was I thinking?!?
I just got an email from Verizon with my FedEx Tracking number! Phone is on the way to me, and I'll get it on Tuesday the 18th. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I'm out in Southern California and I just ordered through the regular *611 Customer service number last night at 7pm.
I also ordered a couple accessories (Cradle / Car Charger) early this morning, but wonder if maybe those won't go through? I got a 25% discount & Free Shipping on them for being part of the Verizon Merits Program.
Anyways, my apologies to those whom couldn't get it right now, but in reality, I guess I'm technically only getting it about 7 days earlier than everyone else anyway... plus I might have paid more than everyone else might if they have additional discounts. I paid $299 - $50 MIR it will be $249 plus tax after NE2.
OK so as I mentioned before I ordered with Jeff earlier but sent him an email since he said he would let me know at 4:30 if I was going to get it today and this is what I got. The game is up. Was a few hours too late.

I tried posting this earlier, but the site has been up and down. I have talked to three different Verizon people today. One my "new" rep, two Ethan, and three someone Ethan had call me to discuss something about the i760 release.
The flood of calls to Verizon shocked them, and they actually couldn't figure out why the influx of calls were happening without a release. Needless to say someone screwed up, and posted inventory on the phone, this should not have been done. It should have been posted without inventory, and without pricing.
Those who have ordered it and received a tracking number, congrats you have it, although the pricing might not be correct and you might be charged more, or get something back, he would not tell me the pricing.
For those that ordered it today before 11 AM, it MIGHT, and I repeat MIGHT actually go through. If you receive a tracking number between 11 PM tonight and tomorrow morning, it went through and you should have it. If you don't get anything, it means they canceled the order, and you will have to wait, and reorder it later, and you might have also screwed up your account in the process, depending on what happens. So if no tracking number, than it's about a 99% certainty that you will NOT get it for another 10 days, and you will probably have to call back in.
The release was for the 24 or 25 of September, which is 30 days after the Q9 release, and when they planned the marketing push. It is still set for that date, but they "could" move it because of these issues, earlier or later. (this is what was told to me). Ethan said that he doubts it will change any, and still should be 24th or 25th.
For those living in IA,IL,IN,KS,KY,MI,MN,MO,ND,NE,OH,PA,SD,WI,WV. I might be able to put you in touch with my new business rep to get the phone ordered. They work on commission and I am sure she wouldn't mind helping you if she can. When the date gets here I will ask how she wants to proceed, either via direct, or having me collect a list of names. I will ask if she wants me to post her information for others to contact her directly. But this won't be until the release.
SO DO NOT CALL VERIZON, you will get the same answer. They have pulled all sales until the release, and if you got one, pat yourself on the back, I didn't get one...

I did get my tracking number...we will see. And if ultimately I paid a little more...oh well. I don't think $249 is that bad for this device ($399 - $100 data - $50 rebate). If it comes out a lot less we will see. Sorry to everyone who tried but didn't get it. Of course it sounds like you will only have to wait another 7 - 10 days...after 8+ months.
Well this thing is driving me crazy I could not even sleep last night...I called back this morning to check the my order status and they turned me over the a manager..He told me that my order was was pending and never going to be completed (I then cried at that point) then he said I'm going to cancel the order....I then hung up...Just called back couple hours later played dumb and gave my order # and then the guy gave me a tracking # and said its on the way and will have it Saturday and how the hell did you order that phone....I cannot wait for this thing its driving me nuts...

I have have been checking my e-mail for a tracking and at 2:00 today I finally got the number it will be here on Monday. Thank you for all who helped.
I am so sorry for those of you who just couldn't get it. However maybe this will teach VZW leason and remember that we are the ones (the customers) who keep them in business and they need to start letting their customers know what is going on. What ever happened to good old fashioned customer service.

If VZW wants to give something back, that's its business, but I have a hard time seeing how they could retroactively charge more for something ordered, charged, shipped, and received for a stated price -- which is not to say it wouldn't try. Also, any idea what "screwed up your account" might mean?
Sorry you didn't get one. By the time my business rep returned my call this afternoon (which I missed), the news was already out about the crackdown, so I didn't bother. I was kind of hoping that at least my delay would mean that you and others would already have it figured out and tweaked by the time I was finally able to order.
Congratulations to all that succeeded. I hope you will direct your pity to the rest of us by posting plenty of information, reviews, and photos.

I was chatting with my local VZW guy this afternoon, and told him about folks managing to order the i760 (he hadn't heard anything... not too surprising since he works in a VZW store... but he thought the whole thing was hilarious).
Any way, he pointed out that there MAY be a problem when folks try to activate the phones. He showed me the VZW web site where the company posts phone activation codes and such, and there was no mention of the i760. So, in his words, "If someone walked in with an i760 right now, I couldn't activate it for them."
