Its 11:40 on the West Coast so if you are there then you are out of luck until tomorrow. If you live on the East Coast then you were out of luck a LONG time ago. lol.

I believe he said he already sent the list. If he has, just call CS in the morning and chances are HIGH that you will be able to order it.

Long time lurker, first time caller? Anyways, so I like everyone else in the forum want this phone, but as far as I can tell everybody is getting different prices, 349 with NE2 and ADD, 299 with out anything.... all the way up to 599!! I just wanted to get some confirmation on the actual price for regular customers. I don't have NE2 but I am due for an upgrade at "discounted pricing" and am long over due for this phone. Thanks in advance for for info!!

Prices vary depending on the phase of the moon, who you ask, the size of the band on the woolly bear caterpillar, whether Capricorn is ascending, and most especially how badly you want it. That's with any cell phone provider, not just VZW.

If you have a lot of patience and don't mind waiting a little longer, try a different rep.

It actually depends on what type of customer, where your contract is, and if they give a flip.

Nope.. GRRRRR

I have called about 10 times!! 10 different reps... NOTHING!

They never even heard of it!!!

I think these are only available in a very small market right now.

Verizon can be SOOOOO frustrating!!!

Did Anyone Ask This, Yet?

Since Crafty is no doubt still experiencing afterglow , it would be rude to try to task him with this. So once someone else has the phone, I hope that they'll take a stab at these questions. Thanks in advance!

With all the discussion about the external keypad, I would think that someone would have asked for commentary on it! So, here goes:
  • Does the external keypad allow text entry, or is it only numeric?
  • Does the angled external keypad work well for one-handed use?
  • Is the external keypad usable by lefties?
And now for my own laundry list:
  • How's the build... the slider mechanism in particular?
  • Are the Call and End buttons a hassle (with their odd side location)?
  • How does the QWERTY keyboard feel (the keys, not the slider)?
  • What're your first impressions regarding the CDMA radio/internal antenna: How's reception/signal strength/call quality?
  • Any issues with the Bluetooth stack (I sure hope it works with my car)?
  • What 'Verizonization' has been done to the phone?
Again: Thanks in advance!

VIP Program

Hey all. First of all, thanks to everyone who has received the phone and your feedback! Much appreciated.

Also, thanks to Brassmonkey, that funky monkey for doing all of the extra work to get our names to his rep. Thanks for taking the time to do that!!!

Now, coincidentally I just received an envelope from Verizon with my VIP program guide explaining my VIP benefits. Now, I've seen this a lot but do I really need 500 minutes to roll over if I never get close to my limit anyway? Nah. And with no new phone to buy accessories I haven't paid it much attention . . . until now!

If any of you have over $79.99/mo service and haven't gotten a VIP card - you should ask about one. I think someone mentioned last year how to sign up for it online so do a search as well.

Either way - the VIP program says I get $50 off a phone and free shipping and 30% off accessories so WAHOO! If any of you have the VIP - make sure to use all of these offers and see what happens (and of course post your experience!).

Jay

East Coast

I called a few times and talked to a few different people...they said that it was launched on the West Coast only. No launch date for the East Coast...of course.

It's not for sale by normal CS reps, they either wont be able to find it or wont be able to order it yet. It's currently only available to B2B customers. You must go through a rep to order it.

I will certainly try! That's why I threw it out there so everyone can give it a shot and share their experiences. If you find out, please post.

The theory here is that it is offered and fair to request it and even argue it if they say no. I read the fine print and it does NOT say that the discount can't be combined with any other offer or anything like that so my GUESS is that it's worth a shot but I'm not counting on it. If it works, great. Worst case I can get the accessories at 30% off with free shipping so . . .

Keep us posted!

Jay

Incorrect. I was able to order it without using B2B, I just call *611 gave them the SKU and it showed up.

When ordering does VZ somehow know that you are b2b or do they take your word for it? And what if your employer uses VZ but you were using a different carrier, do you still qualify? Thanks to all posting.
