I just called Customer service and the girl I talked to wasn't much help. She couldn't find any info on the phone to order it. I even gave her the SKU.
Same here. even B2B didn't know about it. Called from CA.
While there is no IR, I wonder if there is RF remote control capabiltiies. Most devices have moved away from IR and switched to RF so it would make sense that Samsung has RF remote control. According to previous posts, remote control is still listed as a feature.
Who cares if it doesn't have IR. That is too slow. The idea of using my phone to control my TV, surround sound, sat Receiver, and DVD is Geeky to the MAX! Just get a Harmony remote and one button turns them all on or off.
(1st sentance should qualify for the thread
Okay, for the 25 or so that contacted me, our rep will only be calling back those who left their verizon wireless mobile number. He will not email you or attempt to contact you through me or through this site.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER or any other sensitive information!!! Please only send me your name (first is fine) and mobile number.
25 or so sales in 10 minutes...We really should be getting some sort of group discount from VZW!! thanks fellas!
Hey BrassMonkey... thanks so much for doing that! Anyway you can quickly confirm I was on that list of 25 as I PM'ed you with my first name and number about 30 minutes ago.
Also, when should we expect a call? I'm assuming sometime tomorrow?
I just ordered mine. It took forever on the phone. I called the #611 number on my phone, and then chose the option to update my plan. i told the guy who answered that i wanted to purchase a phone, and i told him that i had the sku. He took the sku, put me on hold for 10 minutes, and when he came back, i fully expected him to say that it wasn't for sale yet. instead, he said, what kind of phone is it? i answered that it was a samsung i760, and waited on hold for 5 minuted. he came back, and again i expected the worst, but instead he said, "ok, how would you like to pay for this?" I nearly wet myself.
i am a regular customer (B2C) and i can't believe i ordered the phone. the price was 349.99 after NE2. i asked him if many people had called about the phone today, and he said that i was the first--he said that he hadn't even heard of the phone (surprise!). he said that the phone must have just become available today and that he had to look it up. ya'll need to start ordering.
EDIT: i live in southern California and they would not give me a data package discount.
i wonder if VZW is not allowed to advertise a new release because of the Q9m, but are still allowed to sell new phones if asked. anyway, thanks to all those who have made this release thread great--it has been my addiction since july.

Reason: update
I went to a store today after my father told me the salesman said the first week in october, to see if i can get some more details. I asked a guy and he told me first week of october and that he is already getting some things, i jumped in and was said like what car chargers, so he had a little smirk and went back and pulled me out 2 dummy phones, one being the i760 which i loved and the 2nd was the 6800....he said very soon they will be out...
when i came home and saw crafty already got his phone, i decided to give VZW a call...i was on the phone with a verizon customer rep for over an hour and he said he's never heard of it, but looked everywhere for it, i directed him to the samsung website, and then he found it and saw the verizon logo, he then placed me on hold, talked to his colleagues and heard that you have to email samsung or something. He then placed me on hold AGAIN and called samsung and talked to them about it. When he came back he told me the guy he talked to said it hasn't been released and it may not be out for a while. I told him "people i know" have them and got them from their VZW business reps and he said he doesn't understand how because he can't find it anywhere...so basically i got no where
It took my rep about an hour to find the phone in the system - but my unit arrives on Monday. He could not find any accessories available - car charger in particular. If you are in the Los Angeles market only my rep will help you. PM me your name and cell number and he will contact you - again you must be area code 310, 323, 213, or 818.
Those that ordered today, when did they say it would be delivered? I forgot to ask ...I'm guessing Monday, but hoping for Saturday (FedEX delivers on Saturdays, dont they?)...
Crafty, Again, thanks for your posts. I certainly didn't think much about your posts a couple of days ago when you said you actually ordered it. but now, Props to you dude.
After calling the *611 number 5 times and getting 5 different reps, i was able to order the i760. He said I should have it by Sat or Mon. depending on if FedEX delivers on Sat. The price was $399.

Just Ordered my i760 through *611 for $299 - $50 rebate!
Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know I was able to order my i760 through the normal *611 customer service number and Im in Southern California.
I got a nice rep whom said he saw the phone and was able to add it to the system and it will ship out tomorrow. He said my price with NE2 was $342 AFTER Tax... he said it was $299 plus tax (Tax based on original price). Plus the $50 rebate in the box brings it down another $50 bucks! ($249 plus tax) Good deal!
He said its in stock, will ship out tomorrow, and Ill get it on Monday Or Tuesday of next week!
WooHoo!
(Also of note is that there was no Advanced Data Discount on the device... at least right now)
I remember reading that the full retail price was $519. If you have NE2 and ADD discounts, that brings the price down to $319. This is close to what people have been saying they were getting the phone for ($299). My questions is this... What happened to the discount for signing a new contract. Did these people not get 1 or 2 year pricing? I am asking because I am out of contract and am elegible for NE2, but was expecting to pay a little less than $299 or even $249 (with the $50 MIR). I was thinking more along the lines of $99 - $149.
BrassMonkey how is the phone part of the pda? Speaker lound? Should I keep Verizon and get this phone or get TyTen II....
oh and how is the videos? Do tell if this phone was worth the wait
Crafty? -I dunno, I just ordered it today!

Thanks again so much!
The list is up to the high 30's (there are 2-3 new PM's every time I refresh). Everyone that gave/gives me their mobile number I will put into a spreadsheet and email to our rep later tonight (when the list is somewhat complete). He said he will then call you each back tomorrow when he is back in his office and in front of the computer. There is a ton of you, but I'm sure he will get to everyone! Again, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER/EIN!!!
...This is awesome! I cant wait until Saturday, I think I will even have to cancel my tee time!
