FWIW: here is my chat with a verizon rep on line some useful info, some still a little discouraging:
Please wait for a Verizon Wireless sales representative to assist you with your order. Thank you for your patience!
A Verizon Wireless online pre-sales specialist has joined the chat. You are now chatting with Tonya.
Tonya.: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
You: Hi, noticed you all have released the Samsung SCH-i760 to the b2b people, can you tell me when your other customers might be able to purchase?
Tonya.: That's a great question. Is it okay if I take a moment to research that for you?
You: Yes, thank you.
Tonya.: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
Tonya.: I do not have a date but it should be in the next 60 days.
You: wow 60 days, why do we have to wait so long? could it be less than 60 days, but no more than 60?
Tonya.: I have not been given a date but usually it is no more than 60 days and not that long after the b2b release. We will get it before the stores.
Tonya.: You can sign up on our home page for email updates to when it will be release.
Tonya.: *released.
You: so it should be available on the web-site before the stores or kiosks?
Tonya.: Yes.
You: Thanks for your help. I will sign up for the updates.
Tonya.: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
You: Only if you could get me the phone.
Tonya.: I wish I could. I am waiting for it too!
You: You guys don't get them before the b2b people? Any info on a price point?
Tonya.: We do not get anything until about a week before it comes out.
You: And siging up for the email update will get me info how long before the release, the day of or maybe a heads up a couple days before?
Tonya.: Usually about a week early
just a chat I had with a verizon rep. looks like the rest of us might have to wait awhile, hopefully the 60 days is just to throw us off.
Here is my first unboxing picture. I'm charging this thing NOW. WOOOOOOT
About freaking time.
Wow...this is neat. I've have the i730 for over 2yrs now and love the thing but its time for a change. But I'm not too crazy about keyboard sliding out from the side and having to change orientation all the time while switching between phone and pda. But who knows, maybe the phone feels just right in the hand to do this.
So, can you share your experience with this? And how are the dimensions & weight compared to the i730? Couldn't find those specs anywhere.
Guys--Longtime lurker, 2nd post. Been a Verizon customer since 1993 (can't believe that myself!)--I've been able to order equipment in the past based on my length of contract w/ VZW--just struck out through Customer Service--couldn't even find a part number, etc--just an FYI for others who don't have access to B2B account
I am a B2B customer. The first phone I ordered was through a Business sales rep onto a new line. The 2nd phone was ordered through regular customer care because I needed to send back my Q9m under the 30day return policy and business sales does not handle that.
So, you do NOT need to go through B2B to order it.
It was after 4pm when I ordered so they won't ship out until tomorrow...which means they won't be here until Monday. I have to wait ALL weekend now!
I just called Customer service and the girl I talked to wasn't much help. She couldn't find any info on the phone to order it. I even gave her the SKU.
I've been a lurker here since long before the i730 was finally released. I've gained invaluable knowledge from many of you. And thanks to Mrailing, I was able to make my 730 last a little longer than I would have been able to without his invaluable guide.
I work for a very large company with a national account with Verizon. We have many, many PDAs, most of which are Treos with the exception of the technology workers which are mostly i730s. We have been waiting anxiously like the rest of you for the real replacement for this phone.
So I would like this to be a real "contribution" to the group, rather than just a rumor that won't ever come to be a reality. But my account rep just emailed me to say that the i760 is forthcoming, and, according to what he just sent me 30 minutes ago, it will be firmware upgradeable to Rev. A very quickly, if not immediately.
My B2B is having issues getting it to take the Price Plan that i have, 4,000 min
Same issue here. I wanted to keep the 79.99 combo plan. Customer service couldn't order the phone so they transferred me to sales. Sales searched by sku and found the phone under limited inventory and started the order process. Unfortunately that halted when it came to adding the plan with the phone order.
I should have had the rep try to place the order without a plan but I was after the $100 off equipment upgrade and $100 off ADD.
Anyone know what the deal is with two possible versions of the i760? I remember reading previous posts that indicated two possible versions...

About a week ago, I filled out a survey that someone on here had linked to. I complained about the lack of an upgrade for my i730 that is getting flaky, even mentioning that I might have to switch at some point. I just got a call from a lady at Verizon who was concerned about keeping my account. She asked if I had looked at the site. I told her none was suitable: Blackberry's too limited, Treo's not sturdy, etc. I said I had heard about the 760, hoping to get some info. She seemed to have no knowledge of it. She did promise to call back within the month.
