I hate to say it, but the answer to both questions is "your guess is as good as ours". The phone has been set to be released "at the end of the month" for the last 6 or so months. And while there are options for modem connect available, until we get the phone we have no way of knowing if they work on the i760.

Welcome to our sad, sad world.

1. How long is VZW's string?
2. Check out PdaNet There is a one time charge, but it is reasonable.

Please keep the discussion on topic or this thread may get closed. I've delete a lot of off topic posts today. This is not a place for discussion of AT&T phones or any phone besides the i760.

This thread is a place for release date rumors and rumors about specs. If it's not related to that but is i760 related consider searching and posting in one of our many i760 threads or opening a new thread if you don't find a thread on your topic already.

If it relates to At&T phones take it to one of our many threads on At&T phones.

If its totally off topic, take it to the lounge

Directly below this thread in the list is a new thread I spun off today about using the i760 as a modem. I'd suggest asking any questions in there. Because the device isn't out yet we don't know anything for sure.

Has anyone tried to get to the testman site to see if the 760 may be posted. I check everynight to see if anything new is posted and it is unavailable right now.

What is the testman site?

Can you please explain it to me along with its url?

Will it release the date of the Samsung SCH-i760 for Verizon Wireless?

Thanks,

SCHi760

Does the i760 use a standard charger or a Mini USB charger? I can't tell from the manual but I'm probably just missing it

It uses a proprietary charger. If I remember correctly it is different than the i730 chargers as well.

Yes, the picture shows a proprietary charger. This may be because Samsung often sells proprietary add-on devices (car kits and other things) that use these interfaces. Maybe that is why they still are doing this, versus just usings proprietary ways to make us purchase things like chargers that would cost a lot less if they were standard.

I'm a first time poster, but have been lurking in this forum for several months. As a Sprint PPC user, I've been looking forward to the release of the SCH i760 so I can switch carriers and move to a WM6 phone.

Tonight, I got a call from the Verizon Store Manager in Sugar Land, TX (Houston suburb). I had stopped in a couple of times to inquire on release dates and always got a "I haven't seen anything on that phone yet." answer. He added me to his call list.

The VM I received from him tonight said: "I got a sneak peak at the Samsung i760 today. They gave me a release date of 10-14 days. I just wanted to let you know that it is on its way, and I'll call you when it comes in."

I didn't get to call before they closed to see what the pricing would be, but given that this guy was clueless my first couple of visits, I thought it was encouraging that he called. FWIW

THanks.

PLEASE CHECK OUT THE FAQ BEFORE POSTING. A lot of information being asked is answered in the FAQ already. It's found in the yellow box at the top of the main i760 forum....

Also, I talked to Ethan today. He is still sticking with an end of September release date, roughly 30 days after the new Q.

Is that what we are going with?

Sept. 22 B2B
and
Sept. 29 For everyone else

Let me know please.

no one knows an exact date yet... so as of now "end of september" has to suffice. and even that isn't 100% guaranteed...

From VZW infomanger (yes the device is now absolutely there) the pricing will range from 350 to 400 on a two year 520 full retail. Then of course there is the mail in rebate or corp discounts depending which way you go. West area inventory shows enough to start shipping (low thousands) only one region is light as far as product goes. Sku is working for ordering, but price is set at 99,999.99. It is possible to have this price over ridden but no retail manager will do, maybe B2B is different. Everything looks like no more than a few more weeks.

THERE ARE NO EXACT DATES. Simple as that. No release date has been given yet to anyone that will post that information. The information passed on to me from "Ethan" was in his exact words "end of September, and should be about 30 days after the Q9 release." It's not an exact thing, just like everyone has been telling you. This is the exact same type of thing we have been hearing since March, and if you actually read some of the stuff here, you will see "Soon" has been dropped many times, with many delays.

So no, those dates aren't spot on, but they are in the "current" time frame of the expected release. I know you want an answer, but get in line, we all want an answer...

Samsung

Why was I surprised when the Samsung Rep. didn't even know the phone is on their website when I called Samsung today...He had no idea of the release date and said once it's released we still won't be able to buy the phone from their website.
He offered me the address to the Samsung Corporate office for me to write to them, I was wondering has anyone done that??

its working for me and there is no sign of the I760....I would doubt they put it there now because of everyone knowing about that place!
