well still haven't heard anything and i doubt it will come out on the 10th. If it were, we would have heard something already. Unless there going to keep it a secret. Could they do that? can they release a phone without anyone knowing about it. Instead of advertising it on the weekend sales they would just release it? Could they do that?

As much as I would like to read through this entire thread... I just don't have that kind of time. So I'm not sure if this has been posted yet ('cuz I'm a noob), but I just noticed that Samsung has the i760 on their site now, albeit it's hidden with no direct links to it from the top level Verizon section.
No chance of this phone being released by Oct 10th!!!! Does this phone have mythical powers like curing Cancer or AIDS? I’m looking at the i760 to be my first smart phone ever and I don’t want to leave “the network”. If this phone keeps getting pushed back I’m going to bite the bullet and go over to AT&T and get that i&%*@# thing.

Two years after the first the first release and all of the anticipation and knowing what is out there Samsung Ultra Smart F700 - infoSync World I say to myself why not wait a little longer. Of course at this rate iPhone 3 will be out long before we see the F700.

Hey guys I have been following this thread for months and finally decided to make an account and make a post. To be honest with you I really feel that this thread has gone off topic. Can we please post what we think the new rumored release date is as of now?

While anything is possible, I think anyone who has concluded that there is an actual date established for it release, is doing so from the perspective of wishing it to be true. While the 9/10 is floating around, so are many other dates. Selecting one of the many dates from this thread as the one we want will not necessarily make it so. In other words, if VZW releases it on 9/10, who is going to stop them? And if they do not, who is going to stop them? This release has been so badly managed, I question whether any executive inside VZW is any position to bet their job on a release date! If an executive of VZW even looked at the release of this or the 6800 as having a significant priority, I would be shocked. I think they are too busy focusing on crackberries.

I see what you are saying... Anoter angle to this story is that if you go to VerizonWireless.com and scroll through the stories you will see the Motorola Q for $150. If you read the small print on the slide it says free activation 9/7-9/10... Why? Could this be the date that they have another little something up there sleeves? Could this be the release date of the long awaited i760?

Yor conclusion is based on Sherlock Holmes logic. Unfortunately, we have seen precious little logical behavior from VZW over the years when it comes to PDAs.

You said that 9/10 was possible but that you heard other dates as well... What other dates have you heard?
For that, my friend, read this thread. There are more dates than one can list. More importantly, not one of them matters since they are all based on conjecture.

This thread gets off topic way to often... I have read more things about $200 off an iPhone then I have about the i760... That is almost as bad as it not being released... LOL
Since this is an i760 thread i had a question... I know it has been on samsung's site for a week... How long is it usually on the manuf. site before the cell company releases it?
Also if I want data can I just burn my minutes or must I buy a data plan?
Hi all. Nothing earth shattering to share, however, I wanted to address the potential for the 9/10 release.
Some have posted that they were 'told' by their 'rep' that the stores would get the phones a few days prior to release. Well at the King of Prussia Verizon store (very busy from what i understand) the chowderheadz had never heard of the phone. So there is still the minute possibility of an internet or B2B release on the 10th but it looks like a slim possibility at the stores seeing as though they can't deliver the phones on a Sunday .
Now, they did not have a dummy phone of the i760 but all 4 of the hard working Verizon reps were working diligently to serve customers. Not me of course. I had inquired about a broken 730 car charger and was met with a response that would have made droopy dog proud. Useless!!! Anyway - no info on the 760, blah blah blah, etc, etc, etc.
I did have a period of validation (typically few and far between so please indulge me) when a woman was asking for assistance and was met by another subdued and rude member of the VZW elite looking to upgrade her phone. Man, she laid into him and walked out. Came back in and asked for a manager - at which point she got the deer in headlights stare and told them to take their NE2 and shove it - she was switching companies. Yeah! Thought many on this board would love that - see you're not alone.

Also, by the way, did you guys know that the device comes with 2 batteries? A 3.5 hour talk time one and a 5.4 hour talk time one. Want proof? Check this link from Samsung's own website...
