So 20+ posts of just complaining about Verizon and reasons you want to leave. This is NOT the thread to do this, take it elsewhere. This thread is meant for release information and rumors about the i760 specifically.

I hate to be blunt, but personally I really don't care (and I know others don't too) if you want to leave Verizon, it has nothing to do with me, or any of the other members here, just cancel you account with Verizon and leave them, and don't complain about it here.

If any information was actually released about the i760 it would just skip on by and be buried in this thread... Really, keep the complaining OUT of this thread...

I just went to Verizon Wireless and "ordered" using my NE2. when I got to the confirmation step I quit. Now I'm waiting for an email telling me I didn't finsh and have a picture of a I760. If they do then I'm going to call and order the phone in the picture

I'll let you know.

I hope this is on topic enough so I don't get yelled at.

Thanks,
Lenny

Thumbs up Received a verbal corporate price today

I realize that this is my first post, but have be reading and benefiting from the great contributors here for my I-700 and I-730 since their early days. Was actually a user of the OmniSky service after my early Palm days.

I spoke with the Corporate rep for my company today, explaining that i wanted to purchase a Samsung I-760. After letting me know they were out of stock on the phone, we discussed the fact that the phone hadn't been released yet. He indicated that they don't get dates because they are always coming back and changing them.

I asked how much it would cost when released, and he said, with my Employee discount, it would be $239.00, and that after my NE2 and advanced data credit, it would probably cost me about $30.00.

Don't know if he was looking at an incorrect model; he was unable to find a list price and speculated that it might be released for corporate accounts first.
Hope he is correct as I will be happy with that price.

Now just waiting for the release.
Thumbs up

Unbelievable!

Wish I knew how to insert an image. Today I visited Verizon and tonight I get an email from Verizon thanking me for my interest. There are 3 phones shown and the middle one is none other then the i760. I'll forward my email to anyone interested. What a tease these guys are. I just bought a i730 on ebay to get me to the release of this thing.

Regarding Post #5246 above - don't know how to replicate the pic:

I am not sure about this, but from the looks of the picture, the middle one (which presumably is the i760) has an antenna. The i760 does not. There could be a fourth phone in the background. Thought I would add my two cents...

That antenna is actually on the Treo partially in front of the i760

I believe the antenna is on the Treo shown next to it in the picture. I also got an e-mail tonight with this picture and was going to mention it but others beat me to it. It's definitely from VZW and sure is a teaser.

This is an awsome find!

I just tried to view the testman site and it appears to be unavailable at this moment.

Maybe they were right when they said the 10th to be released. I sure hope so. That would be a nice early birthday present for me (Oct 19) and Iprob8 would also have his. Though it be a little late.

You remind me of when I was awaiting for the Motorola V710 over 3 years ago. I was frequenting the PhoneScoop forum and everyone ranted on for months. We talked up the Bluetooth function of this first-Bluetooth-VZW-phone (of course other carriers already had Bluetooth), prepping our Axims and iPaqs to do DUN over bluetooth was fun too. Then the day of anticipation arrived (I think mid April 2004). The V710 was first sighted at limited Radio Shacks across the US. Radio Shack had somehow been given a few days exclusivity on the V710 before Verizon retailers had them. So everyone started posting questions like "Which Radio Shack did you get your at? Which Mall? What State? Only 2 phones per Radio Shack, you think one in Oregon has one avail? Will they ship it?" I actually left work at 9:30 am after I learned that the Radio Shack in downtown NYC had one avail. I had them hold it and I ran there sweating like a pig. An hour later I was back at work playing with my new toy. Little did my boss know I got no work done that day. So dont let my company know (Mer-ill L-nch)

Looking back I realized its JUST A FREAKIN PHONE. I waited my entire life for this bluetooth function and cant wait no longer. SERENETY NOW!!!

So what have I learned from this experience? Nothing. I did the same for my E815 and my now original MotoQ. I bought all 3 phones on Launch Day.

And as we all know... History repeats itself.

Does anyone on here (besides me) have issue with this? I know that there was always "issues" when a new product is initially released to the public. But, I don't want a crappy device that will have to be taken back to the store multiple times to fix "software issues".

Has there been any news on what remaining issues VZW has with the i760?
Sorry to put a damper on people led to believe its a software issue or testing issue. But those are canned responses used for every anticipated phone verizon launched the past few years. 3 years ago it was buyable, but we all know you cant always tell the teacher "my dog ate my homework". It just doesnt fly anymore. If there was a bug, it would have been discovered and resolved months ago. The products are already in production or packaged somewhere and VZW is waiting to give the green light for business pruposes, not technical. They dont just solve a technical issue and then call Sammy to ship 20,000 i760s the next day with the fix applied.

My guess is VZW stategically decided to wait at least a week, 2, or more after the 9/5/07 Apple announcements to release their competitive phones. It would be silly to release the i760 days before the iPhone and other Apple announcements occured. Then Apple would steal the spotlight. They are waiting til the Apple sizzle simmers down. It started to a few weeks after the iPhone release, but maybe a VZW insider learned of Apples plan to lower the price or add features. So VZW wants to prepare to market their counter launch appropriately.

nuff said.

The testman site has been unavailable for most the day today. You guys think they're finally going to put up the i760? It seems highly likely after seeing the email from VZW with the i760 pic. We shall see pretty soon........

OK, I'll buy that. I was surprised Apple lowered their prices already. Hopefully, it means VZW will have to rethink the initial prices for their iPhone alternatives.

BTW, I checked my VZW Extranet page, still nothing there. Not sure how people got the email w/ the photo.
