I went back to my i730 over the weekend to see if I really miss PPC over Smartphone. To be honest, there isn't much that I miss. I will check out the new Q and the i760 tomorrow. In the market for a new phone so hopefully I will like one of these since VZW probably won't have anything else for the next couple of years. I know the Q9c is coming so I may wait until that one shows its face.

Went in Circuit City Fort Collins Colorado. The guy said several new PPC's will be released in "a month". Mentioned Treo, LG and the I-760. Gave me the dummy phone again to play with ( handled it a few weeks ago). No idea of pricing blah blah.

Waiting: Expecting yesterdays technology tomarrow

Hey, wait a minute those tin cans have a "FDA approved" coating in case of emergencies if a "customer complains of brain damage" and those strings are highly shielded with RFI chemicals so in case you get too close to "high signal strength areas of VZW coverage" they will not "electronically break apart" and that is the "network" of strings attached ( pun intended )

Well, it appears VZW made Samsung remove the SCH-i760 from their website, as I could no longer make the earlier link work, and couldn't find it on their site now... bummer

Totally agree. But when you are a vendor that sells and totally controls the cans that work on your string and you compete with other vendors whose strings and cans operate under the same regulatory rules, but encourage any compliant can to tie on, what is your prognosis for the proprietary vendor?

Adios Verizon......you took too long to replace my well worn out i730.....I am heading to GSM and just put my order in for the unlocked Kaiser TyTN II that is starting to ship today. Only blame I put on myself for not pre-ordering....as I am likely 2 weeks out now when I could have been 2 days out. Between UK and US demand, this is the hottest phone I have ever seen with no marketing budget (i.e. only PR). Obviously, the iPhone had a ton of marketing or "sponsored" PR behind it.........

Hi all - yes I'm new to this forum, but wanted to pass on what I learned last Friday from our VZW B2B rep. I asked about both the i760 and XV6800 as I'm interested in getting either. She put me on hold to ask someone and came back saying there were some problems with the i760 and it's been pushed back to later in the year. The XV6800 is still set for an October release. Let me now say that I hope I won't be bashed and everything on this forum. I posted to the Howard Forum on Friday and was called a liar and to stop posting negative info, and was told that since I was new to that forum, I didn't know what I was talking about.

I'm only reporting what I was told. What makes the i760 info somewhat valid is that sometime last week the i760 was listed on Microsoft Mobile Windows site and stated it could be purchased from VZW. When I had the rep on the phone I went to the site and it was not longer there. Believe me, I want either of these two phones as bad as anyone....like months ago......but just wanted to pass on what I was told. Please don't shoot the messenger!! Thanks!

Why, no one here ever "bashes anyone and everything." That's because all of the posts in this highly acclaimed thread are so relevant, on topic, and accurate.

While Howard Forums may have their hot heads who like to shoot the messengers, we prefer to blast the vendors. Thank you for your information. And I hope you learned your lesson about trusting anything they say over there at Howard Forums! This forum has been saying "next month" all along. This forum has been right from the start.
