I will have a date of release sometime in the near future. hopefully after it's released. but then again, they probably aren't releasing next week.

dangerous,

I'm downloading the file now. Probably won't read it until morning (too dang tired). Just wanted to thank you for the find and the news. Hope this means we're going to see the release soon. My replacement i730 is driving me nuts, random freezes of the touch screen voice command not working properly all the time. I see a light at the end of the tunnel; hopefully, it's not a freight train heading toward me.

This may not seem like anything serious, but I checked the author of the PDF (just to make sure no one gets in trouble) and noticed that there was an author listed. Not sure if that needs to be modified or not. Just a heads up.

Thanks for the manual! Reading through it as we speak.

Equus mentioned that SDHC should work earlier. In the i730 manual it said 1GB or 512 MB cards were the max supported, but they worked with 4GB non-HC cards.

Things confirmed in the manual (above normal WM6 options), although there are lots of other things in the manual, I think these are interesting...

1. Voice Command will come with the phone
2. MMS is on the phone
3. Soft lock is improved
4. WM6 still has the stupid balloon bubble
5. Shows an icon for Bluetooth DUN
6. Different Power connector (Still proprietary)
7. Speaker is located on the back side of the top portion, directly behind the number pad
8. Reset button is located on the slideout keyboard below the left soft key.
9. Hard Reset your phone by holding the reset button and the center "action key" of the four way cursor, after holding for a few seconds, release the reset button first.
10. No IR Port, all beaming done via Bluetooth (although this is good, because now you can beam and accept contacts from non-PDA phones as long as they have the Bluetooth profile, still sucks no IR port)
11. "The i760 supports the 802.11b protocol stack."
12. The SD I/O Slot on the right side of the i760 is for use with an SD (secure digital) card. SD cards come in a variety of sizes and can hold up to 2 GB of data.

I have also been updating the FAQ with the information found in the Manual, trying to get a bit of a jump start, so you all will see it bouncing to the top on occasions, but as always, you can find it in the Yellow Header at the top.

well, i guess i always know when something meaningful has happened when i come visit the thread for the first time in the day, and several pages of posts are waiting for me! *lol* thanks for sharing dangerous!

very general question about specs listed in the manual - would the samsung released user manual reflect actual capabilities for the end user (i.e. what the phone can do after samsung, verizon, and god knows who else gets done fiddling with it), or is it reflective of what the phone can do as samsung designed and produced it, but before other third parties made their own modifications to the phone?

I tried to download the file and Rapidshare says I have reached my free limit. Am I doing something wrong? I would rather not spend $10 or more to get this file.

Sorry for being an idiot.

EDIT: Doh! Firefox downloaded it without telling me. Thanks.

Nothing is disabled. They are 2 different programs.

Dangerous - you are the man! After many months of waiting for solid info you finally came up with something. Thanks for sharing! Great find! This actually deserves it's own thread now as the manual is not really a rumor but fact .

Not sure where you got it but if the suits at VZW come lookin for ya I'm sure someone on this board would be happy to help you find a job

Just finished downloading and waiting to be read.

Thanks again man!!!!!

Your point is an excellent one, however the fact that the manual mentions activating the phone with Verizon beginning on page 5 seems to indicate that this manual is oriented toward the VZW i760. The real question for me is how old the information is in this manual regardless of the dates shown and how much may have changed due to the passage of time. Let's hope that it is for the most part very accurate.

Thank you again dangerous for your great assistance in making these items available. Props dude!
