Yeah, looks like Omie wanted to string us and HOFO along but gave up all the goods to PhoneArena. What kind of 'omie does that?

(OT Reply...using pdanet and usbmodem is basically stealing.)

Are you sure about that? The 5800 has a numeric and qwerty keyboard, plus is rev A upgradeable. Convince me why the i760 is better?

Sorry for not clarifying, but I meant solid in terms of structure. The HTCs look kind of flimsy to me. Also, the Q and all of its siblings are kind of small for my huge hands (I could Palm a basketball in middle school). Thats part of the reason I am looking forward to the side sliding QWERTY keyboard because my hands wont have to be so close together. (Sorry for comparing Michael, Im just clarifying, its not intentional)

Also, I know this is speculation, but with the finding of two different model codes on the Samsung website and the exclusion of any real details about the i760 besides the basics on the PhoneArena post, Im getting kind of hopeful about this whole rev A thing. I asked yesterday, but I am sure it was lost in the close to 100 posts in 24 hrs. Is it possible that two different models were submitted to the FCC? I know I am shooting for the moon but.....

If you look at the two versions of the Q9 on the phonearena site, the main difference is the "Verizon-ified" UI. I wonder if the second version of the i760 showing on Samsung's site is a corporate edition.

You're right because the Q9c excludes the VCast like software and the c probably represents corporate. The only differences in the two i760 model codes were the original code had an S and the newer code has an A. I was brainstorming last night and came up with Standard and Additional (I know more like braindrizzle). Thats why I was hoping more features would be included as a result.

The discussion above isn't about the Q9, it's about how the fact that there are 2 versions of it and how that may correlate to the fact that there are two version on the i760 according to the Samsung site. It's perfectly valid and on-topic for this forum.

Here is another post on Engadget about yet another phone that has been announced for VZW.

It looks as though their lineup will be WM6 Standard phones first then the WM6 Pro phones later which would put the 760 and 6800 hundred further into September.

This entire thing is a total cluster-fxxx. Nobody knows anything - even those who do, don't. Somebody should put VZW out of their misery. As Oliver Hardy said to Stanley Laural, "This is a fine mess you've gotten us into." It sure is, isn't it?

At this point, I think its best to give up on anticipation, and just stay away for a while, and check my VZW B2B site weekly... Maybe my hatred of Verizon will lower, and I will be pleasantly surprised when I am able to spend full retail on last years technology... because it released when I wasn't looking!

The link by lynnpreston (to Gizmodo, not Engadget), simply links to information already posted on phoneArena (and linked by bobb53). Gizmodo's mixup is an immaterial mistake. Read the phoneArena link for more info:

only thing i got to say on the 760 is i hope it comes in the next 30 days! i broke my sammy the other day and shed a tear when doing so... no insurance! im a tard i know. so anyways i got a moto Q and it gets the job done but i miss the sammy. so long story short i hope i get to take advantage of the vzw worry free garuntee and trade my Q in to buy the 760.
