Ok, since my Contact at VZW just told me both the 6800 and I760 are "Slated" for Q1 Delivery, i forsee the I760 being release on 2/15/07 or 2/16/07. Makes sense, if WM6 will be official on 2/14/07.
And the race is heating up... With a release of WM6, Microsoft might want to push the timetable on the i760 to get a device out, then again, it was months after the WM5 release before the first WM5 device was released...

Don't kid yourself. Look at Verizon's track record. To quote a former fellow Austinite, the great wordsmith George W. Bush:
"...fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."
This device will be out in May at the absolute earliest, more likely July.
I don't expect it out for another 60 days or so. I think they will want to make their usual "Expect this awesome device soon" marketing scheme to build expectency. I have been loyal since the i700, and bought each device as it was released since. Samsung tries maintain their reputation for building long-lasting devices.
Realistically, I think it will fall in their Summer release schedule; somewhere around June I suspect. I definately hope it releases sooner, but we all know how Verizon and Microsoft schedules can flip upside down.
But i am not the expert, or a Verizon Employee; I'm just a software engineer. So what do i know?

It was more like..
"...fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me....Duhhh".
This will be the fist time that I am not excited about a new device being released. That's becuse I really like my current device i730. (I'm going on two years with this device)
I hope the i760 comes soon and I will grab it ASAP but I dont mind waiting. If MRailing posts his new iphone-ish skin I will be able to wait even longer.

I have to agree with Mark. It took me a month and a half to get my phone to where i want it. Even though i love new toys i need some more time with my i730.
Oh, Trust me. I've had my Phone since Friday in 2005 when it was release. Its taken me till about now to get it working almost to where I like it. Notice i said Almost. I can't Wait until i get the I760 (and Possibly the 6800). If the I730 Worked as it should, I wouldn't be on this forumn. but it doesn't so, he I am, as you are all, waiting, wanting, wishing it's /EDIT/ SUCCESSOR would show up already.
The only reason i went to the 730 is because the 700 Didn't and couldn't have BLUETOOTH.
My thoughts exactly. Besides........we're not even to 500 posts in this thread..........we must have pages to go...............................We have to remember: This is Verizon.....................................
Your point about "stealth" Equipment Authorization apps is well taken.
Haven't heard of a restriction on model number revision following FCC submission.
Still, even apps with a high level of confidentiality tend to be somewhat revealing--generally enough to establish/confirm identity.
Don't know of this trick actually being pulled--the principle might offend the FCC. Keep in mind that the filing of product label details--the accuracy of which could be compromised via sleight-of-hand--is required.

Edit 708pm
Did you have some super special release of the i730? The release date was at the end of June 2005 for business people and then two weeks later for "common" folks. Big hype the few days before the release and during the "MAN I WANT THIS PHONE AND THOSE CRAZY BUSINESS PEOPLE WON'T SELL IT TO ME BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A BUSINESS ACCOUNT!". I know I was saying that, until the 12th phone call to Verizon where I got a rep that said, sure no problem.
It's going to be a long wait for it, but I don't have a problem waiting either. I have a stable device that is fun to play with, and I am STILL tweaking and doing new things with it. Now if it came out in the middle of February, then I would be happy, but I don't see that happening.
And to those excited about the phone skin, it's coming along. I am posting some pics in that thread that I forgot to post of the original photo locations, not of the "new" locations. Hopefully I can get it done this weekend, but forgot it Super Bowl, and my tradition is to wake up in the morning, start drinking while playing Madden with my buds till pre-game starts, continuing drinking all day (I already have plenty of beer in the fridge), have a crap load of wings & subs, and watch the Colts destroy "da' Bears". (I love both teams, but being a Hoosier, the Colts are my team, I won't be upset either way, but I hope it's a good game, but hey GO COLTS!). Thanks for the praise on the phone skin, much appreciated...

Whoops sorry, when I read it, I could have sworn it said "February" and not "Friday". Please excuse me, I am still a bit sick, and I worked some today, which must be making me see double (it really wore me out today). Besides the cold meds, it's the first day I have had in my contacts in about two weeks. My fault...

I would be surprised of any new devices this month - All of our talking is pure speculation and fun; but lacks any facts about any future release. I'm sure somthing coming but with all of the savy web hawks we have here; any hard facts would be posted, especially with engadget.
I've been looking at the Pantech flip for a while now as a replacement for my i730. Obviously, i would be giving up a lot in terms of features, but I've had my Sammy for a year and a half now, and I think I'm about ready for a new form factor.
Now, if the Sammy i770 really is coming out soon on Verizon, that would totally change my mind about going the Smartphone route!
If you still want the Pantech, it is now on the Verizon web site available for order.
