Aw, come on folks...please be nice. When someone posts here, they are (usually) just trying to be helpful...even if it is their first post.
And even though humor brightens all of our days, 10 posts about "pookie" seems to be a bit overboard. I don't mean to be critical, just hoping we can all focus on the release/rumor.

Well, I guess I'm just going to go back to hibernating until the i760 comes out. I'll set my alarm clock for 2008.

That brings up an interesting point: could it be that VZW has failed so many attempts to pass testing on the i760 (albeit with their alleged "bloatware", s/w "tweaks", and other crippling) that they are now contemplating NOT releasing the i760 at all to cut costs??

Ive been surfin this forum for about 4 or 5 months now. and ok, dont believe me but ill work on getting some pictures from him of it. He is the manager of two stores in the seattle area so he is pretty creditable. He said its the next new phone to be released with verizon.
I just got a flyer via snailmail on the "new Blackberry 8830" from Verizon wireless. Do you think the I760 will be anounced like that? if so they are going to have to create ads send them to printing, etc.
Is anybody on the list working for an advertising company that would have an insite into whether the flyers are being printed?
Just a picture of your friend in his store with a smile that says, "I've got an i760 hiding in the back of my store," would be entertaining.
Once your done asking your friend for the photo proof, then ask him to buy you lunch to make up for his BS leading to you getting such a hard time on your first post.
I just spoke to my VZW rep who says that he cannot believe that any store received any inventory of i760s. He admited knowing about the 760 and the 6800, but he also said he was not aware of a release date. He is also one of us who will get wichever device is released first because he is stuck with his 730. I am sure he was not holding back anything because he is the kind of person who loves to spill his guts and has in the past.

I wish this would come out. I had the i730 and loved it till it died. I went thru 3 replacements before they gave me a new phone. Not really sure why I would go with samsung again after all the problems, just like the style and feel of it better than any other phone.

I have been lurking here for over a year, and I finally couldn't take it... I've seen this several times. I have to post a response to this(and people like this).
Honestly I think you're doing yourself and the community here a great disfavor if this info is true. We already know that Verizon reps read these forums. I could probably find out the name of your "friend" in a few minutes by the info you are giving us. And guess what, Verizon doesn't like their people commenting on this stuff, especially NDA stuff by managers and high level personnel. (we already have heard about a company email going out instructing reps NOT to talk to us, quite specifically)
And when people on here give specific info about their contacts it wouldn't surprise me at all if they get a nice little email telling them to shut up. Do us all a favor and DO NOT disclose information that would be detrimental to your contact. I guarantee there are people who have been burned before and are now NOT giving us info because of it.
I saw the same thing with a previous poster who blocked out the contacts name, all the while telling us exactly what his job title was, regional business manager for a specific area etc. Blocking out their name does jack when verizon or anyone can look them up in a few minutes by their title.
Give us the info and BASIC source information, but do not put our contacts in a bad position, we want FUTURE info not just now info. This is one of the reasons "Ethan" has been such a reliable contact, because mrailing protects his/her anonymity so he/she can speak freely.

I am guessing (read: hoping) that it is a display unit. The screen orientation does not change when the keyboard is extended. I'm pretty sure we've seen that screenshot before with the 10:10 time on it.
10:10 display time (albeit with a 1/23/07 date) was there in the preview from the VZW website discussed earlier in this thread and also shown here. (quickest place I could find it).
