How can you say this? Of course we know! We know it is possibly, maybe, perhaps rolling into our hands in August. How much more precise do you need the answer to be?

SCH-i760 on Samsung's Site

This link showed up on July 28th on Samsung's website (which happens to be my birthday).
SAMSUNG Download Center

There is a file there to download (SCH-i760 Samsung PC Studio ver 3.1), but no additional info yet.

I may have missed it, but has there been any serious talk about the i760 not being a "world phone"?

I don't mean to ruin your birthday, but that link has been there for a while.

No, it will not have a GSM radio. It is CDMA only.

I had not read anywhere on here before that this was the case. I wonder if this website got it wrong or there is something the users who have had the joy of holding one have missed.

chalk it up to the musings of a an i760 owner wannabee!!!

I heard through a store rep yesterday that there were many phones being released at the end of this year. I hope the i760 is not one of those. My question is "what is the next PDA GSM" phone for Verizon?

The 6800 and i760 are both CDMA.

I tried finding if that link was already posted, but couldn't... my mistake. The search on Samsung's site had a date of July 28th next to the search result. I'll just leave the sleuthwork to the pros.

2 Week Countdown...

Hey there (name withheld), I’m hearing rumors of an ever increasingly delayed Samsung i760. Have you heard anything lately? -I’m totally geeked for this phone, but if it’s going to be much longer I might have to give GSM a wurl for all of our company PDA lines! Please let me know what you’re hearing. Thanks!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had a meeting regarding all upcoming devices this morning and I haven't heard anything on the i760 that would warrant a delay (mid August release still). Corporate is VERY excited about this phone! You will be blown away with all that is new on this device. If you like your 730, you will LOVE the 760! This will be the standard in CDMA devices for the business professional.
I would urge you to avoid GSM. If you're use to the speed and quality of the i730 that you have today, your experience with the iphone, or any ATT phone, will be significantly different. The coverage on voice will be negligible (maybe), but the difference on data speeds is day and night.

The biggest downfall to the iPhone is the network that it runs on.
MSNBC Video

The data transmission rate on the EDGE network is about 80-100kbps compared to EVDO at 500-800kbps (80-120kbps upload). They have a display in the Apple stores that are connected to the Wi-Fi inside their store that perform really well. If you want to get a better depiction of how they'll operate in the real work you can disable the Wi-Fi and enable the EDGE.

Questions???
I'm on vacation celebrating our 8 year anniversary, but I thought I would pass on some info (tethering through 1X blows)... Anyway, here is the latest email dialog from our VZW National Accounts rep...

Thanks for your email. Here is what I know....It WILL be released within the next 2 weeks. There is a firm date, however I can not disclose it ...yet. Look for an official announcement soon. I don't know if it will be a soft launch for the Business channel first. Probably not, seeing how they want it to compete with iphone.
I don't know the complete specs of the device, but it absolutely will NOT be Rev A. It will have Wi-Fi built-in, and will NOT have the IR port. It will have WM6 (this is a slick interface, you'll love it!) as well as a quicker computer (dont let the numbers fool you). You will need all new accessories, as the connections port has been reworked. As far as I know, it will come with everything your i730 came with -cradle/desk charger, travel charger, slim/extended bat, holster, 2 stylist, etc. BTW, the slim battery has been improved to improve life. Price point is unknown at this point. Probably in the $300-$500 range.

That's all I know/can say at this point. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything.

By the way, you are going to want to upgrade your company KRZRs to the new RAZR2 when it comes out... it is dominate!!

There you go. Take it for what it's worth, but this guy has a track record for always being on the money. I have to get back to my Pina Colada! Cheers...

Awesome news, I better start getting my 730 and accessories ready for ebay.

Nice! Great to see that there is actually a firm date, hopefully something they can stick to. Happy anniversary!
