y'know, if it really does come with all that stuff, that sure makes me think twice about how i perceive a higher price with the phone. All my other phones i have had to pay extra for the extended life battery, a decent case, cradle, etc etc. Usually to the tune of an extra $75 or $100 in addition to the cost of the phone itself.
That $299 price (assuming one uses the NE2) looks even better. Here's hoping!
I think that is part of a bundle that includes a 4 gig card, BT stereo headset and the music transfer cable and software and it all adds $149 to the price of the already too expensive chocolate.
I was so concerned about having my Treo 700wx laying on it's back while charging and synching that I bought a cheap usb charge/synch cradle the same week I bought the phone.
Which brings to mind the question of does anybody know whats in the box?
I am really upset with VZW for selling these incredibly expensive devices without cradles and cases. It's almost as iff they want you to buy these things from them after spending so much on the phone
It appears from the spreadsheet that appeared earlier in the thread, and based on samsung's history with the i600 and i730 that you will probably receive the device, cradle, standard battery, extended battery, and AC travel charger.
Typically it is not VZW that decides whether or not the accessory is included in the device package, but the manufacturer who will set their price to VZW based on what is included in the kit.
Samsung typically has been one of the best manufacturers as far as what you get in the retail package with the device.
I believe it speaks to the manufacturing quality of their equipment as well.
EDIT: Apparently I am slower than molasses in January.

If I rember correctly, the original release of the i730 did not include the extended/large capacity battery. The second battery was released with the phone after it was determined that the original battery was not enough to support the device the way it was intended.
I could be completely off on this but it is what I remember.
If this is the case, than I am not sure that the larger battery will be coming with the device as the (Samsung) has learned from that prior experience as well as the lower power consumption that seems to be all the rage with the new Samsung chip.

I think they all came with it, I know I ordered mine as soon as i could find a rep who "had it in their system" and could ship it to me and mine came with both batteries.
I also remember numerous I'll trade my slim for your extended threads.

It says "Batteries" plural. Certainly not conclusive, especially since I have not heard anything about a "Game Pad" (does anyone know what this could be referring to?), but it's something.

Yes, the i730 came packaged with the slim and extended batteries from the get go.
Okay, just back from a week of vacation....poured over 4 pages of posts (I have it set to 40 posts/page)....and minimally more info. Sometime in August, more dribble about chips, prices, rants, and iPhones. (perish the thought, Pastor Tim!)
Maybe more to come on my birthday? (July 31st) Only time will tell.....
i'm going to venture a guess that - in keeping with some of the other features of the phone that seem to point to a more consumer oriented marketing approach (GIN, etc) - the "game pad" is a reference to the circular navigation dial on the front of the phone.
"game pad" makes the phone sound a lot more fun than "navigation dial"
Obviously Game Pad is a separately warrantied item so it can't just be the nav dial. Maybe a second snap-on dial for the left of the phone to make the phone more gaming friendly?
I agree, this all seems to be falling into place that this phone, via AppZone, will be offering some games and such and will therefore be marketed to a younger audience. Still probably a good biz phone either way.
Geckotek - "Obviously Game Pad is a separately warrantied item so it can't just be the nav dial..."
Why do you say, "Obviously"? Are you sure of this?

I was interested too, but my guess is that it is a boilerplate warranty covering some old gamepad a la :Samsung A660 Attachable Game Pad at MobileCityOnline.com
which was circa 03 i believe. I guess there is always hoping for some multiple button presses or a game pad.
