WHAT?!? No IR Port either?!? What the heck were they thinking? THey did away with our AWESOME Remote Control program? How am I going to amuse myself at the bar?

I know... I know... This one isn't as much of a "toy" as the i730, but come on...I feel like they're taking so many steps backwards. Oh well...It's probobly been mentioned already, but someone in the 6800 forum said some people saw the i760 on the B2B sites. I checked mine for NYC and it is not there yet. Any news?

Yeah I saw that too, but didn't see the i760 on the B2B site.
Also tried the testman site on which the only difference from the "real" VZW website was that the PPC-6700 is showing "out of stock" (at least for the PDA/Smartphone page).

A friend of mine has a 1.3mp camera phone (his only digital camera) with a scant 32mg memory and has taken the most incredible artistic photos using colored glass bottles to defract light and other ingenious techniques to concoct what will probably become the first totally camera phone only full feature independent film . You would be amazed what a humble camera phone can do. Some day when the lenses improve it will go beyond amazement.

Stop thinking your Armani and tie (or briefcase) grants you the rights as the ONLY BUSINESS-minded people worthy of a "so-fis-ta-ma-cated" device.

Again, I really don't mean to offend. But I think it's stupid when people seem to want the whole world to function only in their capacity (rather, limitations).
Gee, didn't know I wore Armani. I remember I had a Pierre Cardin tie once

Guess I'll shut up, and stop bragging about being a Renaissance man with a Nikon.

Do you always underline your spelling mistakes?

Sadly, my job doesn't allow cell-phones with cameras, or cell-phones of any type, so my current i730 sits in my car and gets hot all day. I definitely can't justify an upgrade with the i760 to my wife when I rarely use the thing anymore...

But I went from eagerness for the i760, to just dissapointment that it is more evolutionary than revolutionary, and back to eagerness again as we get closer to the release date. Sigh... I'll have to avoid this forum once you all get it for fear of becoming too jealous.

Ok, let's quell this rumor now. Nobody said they spotted the phone on the b2b site. What was said is that a guy was able to place an order through his "back channel" business account (whatever that means.)

So what I imagine is that his biz rep said "Sure, I'll get that order in for you" and wrote it down on a piece of paper.

So far, the guy has been unable to substantiate his claim and has already admitted that the all he did was place the order, but that he didn't say the phone was being shipped yet.

Oh, and Brian is just an instigator trying to cause trouble.

Well, I cannot get to PDAPhoneHome from work and I am bummed. I emailed the forum moderator. Seems to be a problem only at work, but my home has Verizon DSL too. Then yesterday, a guy pulls out a new iPaq WM6 and says it can connect with Verizon, even though his wasn't. Why are the net gods making my wait more bumpy?

Taking the camera out

I'm in Virginia too and can't bring a phone with a cam to work, but they will let me bring my i730 in; it just doesn't work all that well with concrete walls. So I have a friend that wanted a VZ phone and got a buddy of his down in Texas to buy the phone for him and found a way to take the camera out and replace it with some sort of plastic. I thought it was cool and am thinking of doing the same with the i760 WHENEVER IT COMES OUT. Of course, I'll probably need a hearing aid by that time and won't be able to talk on the phone for too long because I'll have false teeth too.

Haha, not quite, although I work with NSA extensively.

No, I just work in a (overly) secure government facility that allows open storage of classified documents, meaning no media in or out, and no gadgets that have a transmit function. So no cell phones, pagers, PDAs, thumb drives, cameras, etc.

At my previous job I couldn't have survived without my i730, now I use DayRunners and check email only when I'm near a computer (the horror!).

I work in the Auto Industry and there are buildings that do not allow cameras as well.

Ok, this is NOT a rant and NOT a flame, just a request from a long-time reader of this forum...going back to 2003, and the i700...

Folks, the i700 had a camera; the i730 did not; it looks like the i760 will...

Each of us has different needs and desires. But all this talk about the camera - whether we need it, want it, shouldn't use it, wouldn' use it, can't use it - is just not productive (in terms of this rumor thread). Our individual needs will determine what we do individually. Each of us has to decide whether to buy the phone or not. If we can't have a camera at work and we want a phone at work, well...the i760 is not for us. Then, we move on to something else.

Whether we "want" something or not, VZW will decide which phones have cameras and which won't. Unless someone here has influence in VZW's R&D, our only choice is what to buy.

I guess I am asking (please, please...I am not trying to insult anyone or diss any comments already made!) if we can stay on topic...
